Clear Gutters: Ensure downspouts are clear to allow melting ice to drain, preventing heavy, frozen dams.
Check Attic Insulation/Ventilation: Proper insulation stops warm air from escaping, which melts snow and creates ice dams.
Trim Branches: Remove limbs that could snap under ice weight and damage the roof.

Never use salt or Ice melt on roofing materials!
