Our favorite day of the year was finally here!

Rain or shine, our annual family picnic always leaves us with a smile on our faces. Our employees and their families get to enjoy a day of food, rides, activities, and everything in between.

It's all fun and games until... Nope, it was all fun and games!

Our summer interns just wrapped up their experience with final presentations of their work. The interns and their supervisors then celebrated accordingly with an outing of go karts, arcade games, and more!

This summer, our group of interns ranged from quality all the way to accounting. In every area of manufacturing, it's important for students to get hands-on experience. But it's also important to show them how fun this industry can be!

This week, The Inventor's Lab of Genoa IL - STEM Club joined Genoa's 2026 National Night Out with help of members of the Custom Aluminum team!

Custom Aluminum is proud to partner with the Genoa Public Library District to offer a free youth S.T.E.M. program that introduces students to the many exciting S.T.E.M. topics and careers through hands-on experiences with local experts.

At our booth, community members made their own "gummy worms" by squirting sodium alginate into a calcium chloride bath, then put our rubber duck catapult (built by our work-study interns) to the test to see how far they could launch their ducks!

We had a great time sharing the excitement of STEM with the Genoa community!

En colaboración con la Biblioteca Pública de Genoa, Custom Aluminum ofrece un programa gratuito de S.T.E.M. para jóvenes, donde los estudiantes exploran temas y carreras en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas a través de actividades prácticas con expertos locales.

En nuestro puesto, los miembros de la comunidad crearon sus propias gomitas y probaron nuestro lanzador de patitos de hule, construido por nuestros estudiantes en prácticas, para ver qué tan lejos podían lanzarlos.

Take a look at our punching process in action. 🔩

Punching is one of the fabrication operations used to create holes, slots, and other features in aluminum extrusions. Using a punch die, these features are formed quickly and consistently, making punching an efficient solution for high-volume production while maintaining tight tolerances.

At Custom Aluminum, punching is just one of our in-house fabrication capabilities alongside cutting, sawing, notching, slotting, and deburring. By keeping extrusion, fabrication, and finishing under one roof, we're able to maintain quality, streamline production, and deliver finished components more efficiently.

An incredible opportunity is waiting for local middle school students.

Applications for Launch Point close July 31, and we're looking for a few more students to join this year's program.

From August through April, students will work with industry professionals to design, market, build, and launch a product for a real business. Along the way, they'll explore careers in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, design, business, and more with industry professionals.

Our goal is to give students a chance to discover new interests, build confidence, and see what's possible when creativity meets real-world problem solving.

If you know a curious middle schooler who loves creating, building, or solving problems, don't let them miss this opportunity.
