Wired or Wireless: Same Diagnostics, Different Deployment

The real-time diagnostic COMPACS system is available in wired and wireless configurations. Both deliver early defect detection, degradation tracking, remaining useful life estimation, and maintenance prescriptions.

The wired configuration provides continuous data transmission and is suitable where permanent cabling is practical. The wireless configuration reduces cabling and simplifies installation, with measurement intervals configurable from one minute.

The right configuration depends on monitoring objectives, installation constraints, required measurement frequency, and lifecycle strategy. The configurations differ in data transmission and measurement mode, not in diagnostic capability.

Which configuration would work better at your facility: wired or wireless?

A Strategic Step Toward Higher Availability 🚀

In processing facilities, the largest losses often occur at bottlenecks, where one equipment issue can slow the entire process. When the issue is detected too late, throughput is already affected and decisions become reactive.

The COMPACS system helps teams identify equipment-related bottlenecks, find their root causes, and act earlier through real-time diagnostics and clear maintenance prescriptions.

What Facility Gain:

- Higher availability: from 80–85% toward technically achievable levels near 99% through earlier problem detection.

- More throughput: up to 10% more capacity from the same assets, with lower unplanned shutdown risk.

- Stronger operating margin: less downtime, fewer emergency repairs, and more stable output.

- Focused maintenance: the right people, spare parts, and resources directed to the right actions at the right time.

If higher availability is a priority for your facility in 2026, message us or leave a comment. We’ll be glad to share practical examples.

819 machines. 13 processing units. One refinery deployment.

This case shows what scalability in equipment diagnostics looks like in practice.

At a major oil refinery, the real-time diagnostic COMPACS system was deployed across 819 rotating machines in 13 processing units. The system continuously monitors equipment, detects emerging defects, tracks degradation, forecasts remaining useful life, and provides actionable maintenance prescriptions.

This supported the shift from reactive repairs to condition-based maintenance and better operating decisions. It also automated routine data collection and interpretation, giving engineering teams more time to prepare maintenance before equipment issues became urgent.

From Isolated Snapshots to Real-Time Transparency

Periodic measurements capture snapshots, rarely showing how defects develop, how process mode affects equipment health, or how teams respond.

The real-time diagnostic COMPACS system transforms complex technical data into clear, actionable prescriptions that help prevent equipment failures. The guidance uses practical language, making it easy to understand for personnel without specialist diagnostic or testing training.

The COMPACS system continuously monitors each asset and estimates its remaining useful life. Operators receive immediate feedback on how changes in process mode affect equipment health. Maintenance teams receive asset-specific prescriptions, know available response time, and confirm if completed work restored an acceptable state.

By making defect development visible, the system reduces preventive maintenance and supports condition-based operations. It also gives management objective evidence of equipment health, maintenance quality, and team responses to reliability issues.

This transparency fosters ownership of equipment integrity, improves coordination and trust, and supports a strong facility-wide reliability culture.
