Yesterday, Meridian Engineering said Happy Retirement to Randall Vickers!

As one of the original founders of Meridian Engineering, there’s no question about the impact Randall has had in shaping our company. Mike Nadeau, Nichole Luthi, and Tyler Baron will continue leading Meridian Engineering while remaining grateful for the solid foundation Randall helped build.

Randall is truly our civil engineering encyclopedia, and his knowledge, leadership, and presence in the office will be greatly missed.

We wish you all the best in retirement, Randall

For years, Darryl Fenn had a simple retirement plan:

"When my HP-41 calculator stops working, I'll retire."

Last week, it finally happened.

As one of Meridian Engineering's founders, Darryl helped build the company we know today while mentoring generations of surveyors and serving the profession he loves.

While we'll miss seeing Darryl around the office, we're grateful for the example he set and the impact he made on Meridian, our clients, and the surveying community throughout Utah.

Michael Nadeau, Nichole Luthi, and Tyler Baron have been leading Meridian Engineering since early 2025 and will continue guiding the firm forward. With Darryl's retirement, they remain committed to the people, projects, and values that have defined Meridian for nearly three decades.

Congratulations, Darryl. You've earned it.

This recognition belongs to our entire team, but leaders like Michael Nadeau, Nichole Luthi, and Tyler Baron help set the standard for excellence that continues to drive us forward.

We’ll be honest… we’ve been a little quiet over here lately.

But behind the scenes, our team has been doing what we do best, delivering solid work, supporting great clients, and staying focused on the projects that matter.

And that work just earned us something we’re really proud of: Best of State – Civil Engineering.

We’re grateful for the trust of our clients and partners across Utah, and we’re excited to be back, sharing more of what we’ve been up to.

More to come 👀

On October 11, 2025, Sandy City celebrated the grand opening of its new Fire Station No. 31 with a ribbon cutting, bell ringing, and a community pancake breakfast! This new deluxe, modern, two-level 30,391-square-foot facility located at 239 West off Monroe Street (9270 S.) was designed to serve as a home base for the city’s dedicated firefighters including training classrooms, living quarters for 14, 5 apparatus and ambulance bays, and parking, all for supporting faster response times, enhanced training, and future Sandy City community growth.

In collaboration with ajc architects, Meridian Engineering provided comprehensive site design and civil engineering services including topographic survey, utility extensions, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management, roadway extensions, and construction period services. Every design element was developed to ensure reliable infrastructure and seamless operations for emergency response.
We’re honored to have contributed to a project that supports those who serve and protect our community every day. Congratulations to Sandy City Fire Department and all who made this station a reality!
