After much consideration, I have decided to close Vacuum Volume, and will be starting a new position as Business Development Manager, North America - Scientific Vacuum at Edwards Vacuum.

It was a difficult decision to close the business, but I am really looking forward to this new chapter of my career. Thank you to everyone who supported me with this business venture over the past couple years. I look forward to continuing to work together in my new role.

I will be officially starting at Edwards on Monday and can provide my new contact information once I get all set up. We recently worked with Allectra to design and manufacture a custom ultra-low pressure burst disk for our customer. The burst disk is rated for use in UHV, has a bursting pressure of 352 - 476 mbar (5 - 7 psig), features a protective mesh cover (to protect rupture membrane), and has 4.5" CF fl**ges on the inlet (for connection to ultra-high vacuum system) and the exit (for gas recovery). It will be used to protect the customer's sensitive instruments in the event of accidental over-pressurization of their vacuum system.

We have just added a wide selection of Allectra's high and ultra-high vacuum SMA coaxial feedthroughs to our website that are available for online ordering or that can be added to a web quote. These standard SMA's include ones with frequencies rated to 6.5 GHz, 18 GHz, 27 GHz (Super SMA), and 40 GHz K-type on a range of fl**ge types and sizes. If you can't find what you are looking for exactly, then just let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can quote it as many custom options are also available. We also can manufacture custom fl**ge assemblies to which different arrangements of SMA feedthroughs and other connectors can be added.

We have just added Titanium-Aluminum Bimetal Explosion Bonded CF Flanges made by LOS Vacuum Products to our ecommerce website. They are extreme high vacuum rated to 1x10^-13 Torr. These fl**ges have extremely low outgassing rates of hydrogen making it much easier to obtain UHV/XHV levels than traditional stainless steel alloys. Titanium also has very low magnetic permeability and a low-Z number, which is advantageous for installation and maintenance under high-radiation levels. LOS Ti/Al bimetal fl**ges are great for high energy physics applications, beamlines at synchrotrons and particle accelerators, and quantum computers.
