Onyx Specialty Papers, a manufacturing company located in Lee MA, is looking for a PROCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN to fill a full time position in our Process Control group. This individual will assist in applying control principles and logical procedures to help optimize our manufacturing process while maintaining the integrity/health of the Distributive Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, machine drive systems, defect detection system and other related equipment in our paper making process.

The preferred candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or other related discipline, or 1-2 years of experience with DCS/PLC/Drive Systems. Demonstrated programming experience is a must, with experience in Function Block/ Ladder Logic preferred. A basic understanding of Windows OS (Command Prompt, IP Configuration, etc.) is also required.
We are looking for someone with a good balance of analytical skills (problem solving, data analysis) and technical skills (programming, validation and testing). Focus and attention to detail to ensure new programs or program modifications result in the desired outcomes is essential. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with solid time management and organizational skills.
Typical Duties Include:
· Analyze process problems and implement DCS/ PLC/ Drives solutions
· Assist in control system software changes in support of manufacturing process improvements
· Troubleshoot and resolve basic LAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems.
· Analyze, develop and implement modifications, maintenance and upgrades to the mill’s control and drive systems.
· Provide capital project support as it effects process and control systems.
· Minimize control and drive system downtime.
· Respond to control system problems during off hours in support of our 24 hour/day operation

What will you do as a Process Engineer at Onyx?
You will…
· Work as part of an interdisciplinary team applying engineering principles to solve process issues and implement process improvements.
· Drive root cause analysis for internal issues and customer complaints using problem solving techniques based in the fundamentals of DMAIC and/or Lean Six Sigma
· Provide support to continuous improvement activities affecting product quality and variability reduction.
· Use data visualization tools and statistical analysis to work with data sets from lab scale to production process.
· Support new product development activities.
· Coordinate product and production trials through all phases of planning, ex*****on, and analysis.
· Investigate new product and process technologies.
· Have the opportunity to gain supervisory experience by managing engineering co-op/interns

Position Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field

Onyx Specialty Papers, a manufacturing facility located in Lee MA, is looking for a mechanic/millwright to fill a full time position. The optimal candidate will be experienced in one or more of the following skills: Fabrication, Rigging, Hand and Power Tool Use, Pipefitting, Machining, Welding, Blueprint Reading, and Power Transmission. The candidate should be comfortable working in a team environment with other skilled tradesmen.

Initial pay level will be determined based on the candidates current experience and may increase over time as additional skills are gained. Annual earnings potential is upwards of $65,000. Our benefits, which begin on the first day of employment, include company subsidized medical and dental benefits, company paid life insurance, a 401K retirement account with a company match, and paid vacation time. In addition, every Onyx Associate gets 12 paid Holiday/Personal Days each year.

The standard work week for this position is 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday with weekend work (at premium pay rates including double time on Sunday) required a couple times per month. The average weekly hours worked is 45-50 hours. The position requires rotating on call responsibility, which also comes with premium pay. Overtime for this position is paid after 8 hours worked in a day.
