The Maine Construction Hike for Hope brought the construction industry together in a powerful way, raising over $60,000 for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention.

Mental health awareness is more important than ever, and events like this one make a real difference. We were proud to participate alongside so many incredible teams and supporters, finishing among the top three fundraising teams.

A special shoutout to our own Shane Kelly, who served on the planning committee for this event!

Our President & COO, Kylie Mason, PLA, LEED-AP, joined an incredible group of women leaders at the Mainebiz Women's Leadership Forum in Portland, in front of 270 attendees, for a candid conversation about what it takes to grow as a leader and the qualities worth holding onto along the way.

From the “disease to please” to minimizing one’s physical presence, this year's Mainebiz Women's Leadership Forum explored habits that can hold women back from reaching their goals, as outlined in a book entitled "How Women Rise."

Last week, our team visited an elementary school in St. George, Maine to give students a firsthand look at Reality Capture technology, including a live drone demonstration outside.

The visit tied directly into work Sebago has done in the town around resiliency planning. Sea level rise is one of those generational challenges that today's kids will navigate more than any of us, and tools like 3D modeling and dense data capture can make abstract future impacts feel tangible and close to home.

The teacher summed it up better than we ever could:

"The class really enjoyed exploring the models on their own and recognizing familiar places. I heard students say things like, 'Oh, look at the flight path for this one' and 'That must be the lowest elevation right there.'"

That kind of curiosity is exactly why we show up. Thank you to the students and staff at St. George for having us.

Three talented individuals joined the Sebago Technics team across civil engineering, client services, and survey, and we are proud to introduce them!

Dagmawi Girma Gebre came to us with a background in civil engineering and hands-on construction management experience. He has a master’s degree in project management at Northeastern University and is no stranger to our team, having completed a co-op program with us last year. We are thrilled to have him here full time!

Katie Baker joins us as Client Services Assistant in South Portland. With a background spanning safety administration and program management at InterMed, plus over a decade running her own photography business, her experience translates excellently to client-facing work.

Rounding out the group, Chase Fanning joins our South Portland Survey team as a Senior Surveyor, bringing more than a decade of experience in surveying and project leadership, including extensive time leading crews through complex offshore operations. He and his family relocated from Texas to Maine, and we are glad their next chapter landed here.

Welcome to the team, Dagmawi, Katie, and Chase. We are glad you are here!

Vernal pool season is here, and it's even better when the whole crew gets to be out in the field together. 🐸

Our Environmental Scientists recently spent the day in Sebago, Maine conducting vernal pool assessments and doing the kind of thorough site work that helps our clients understand what's on their land before development begins. Identifying and documenting vernal pools early in the process can save significant time and cost down the road.

Curious about what vernal pools mean for your project? We broke it down here: https://www.sebagotechnics.com/insights/vernal-pools-impact-on-property-development/
