Please join us in congratulating Linc Linn on his retirement after 40 and a half years of working at Fox Products!
Joining the team in December of 1985, Linc was employee number 43! A key mounter, Linc has spent the last four decades making keys for keys for oboes, English horns, and just recently clarinets. When he first started at Fox, we were making oboes with serial numbers in the 4000s, and new oboe serial numbers are in the 40,000s today. By our estimations, Linc has made keys for well over 10,000 instruments over the years!
When asked what he enjoyed about working at Fox, Linc pointed to the flexibility the job has offered him over the years, along with the close-knit, small company feel Fox had when he first started. He has fond memories of company picnics and Christmas parties with his coworkers, including the time he robbed Alan Fox of a hit with a diving catch in the outfield.
Linc’s coworkers describe him as a lot of fun and a wealth of knowledge. A loyal Indiana University fan, Linc has been organizing the company March Madness bracket for years. He may pass along the torch, but he says he may still organize and score it for Fox from home. Coworkers appreciate that Linc was always quick to share his tricks of the trade and said that he makes the difficult job of key mounting look easy. Linc is also known for being an incredible baker! His carrot cake, sugar cream pie, and chocolate chip cookies are legendary around the factory and will be missed almost as much as Linc.
What's next for Linc now that he's retiring? He and his wife are headed to Italy for a vacation this October, and he's looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids and potentially doing some traveling out west.
Congratulations, Linc!
