We had the honor of attending the ribbon-cutting for Esperanza Tec Centro Philadelphia, and it was one of those moments that reminds you why this work matters.

This facility will train hundreds of adults in HVAC, plumbing, and skilled trades every year, at no cost. Knowing that Alderson’s MEP engineering is behind those walls made the day even more meaningful.

Congratulations to Esperanza, the Tec Centro Workforce Network, and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on bringing this vision to life. We are so proud to have been part of it.

A new program in North Philadelphia is training workers in the trades for free. Esperanza Tec Centro Philadelphia is bringing HVAC, plumbing, welding, and facility maintenance training to Hunting Park, and Alderson Engineering was proud to provide MEP engineering services for the new training facility. We're honored to be a part of community projects like this.

Designing MEP systems for a senior living facility isn’t the same as designing them for an office building.

You’re engineering for people who may have mobility limitations, medical equipment running around the clock, and staff who need reliable systems in every corner of the building, day and night. That means redundancy in electrical. Careful HVAC zoning for comfort and air quality. Plumbing layouts that account for accessibility at every level.

The design has to account for all of it before construction ever begins.

Senior living is one of the fastest-moving sectors in the built environment right now, and our team is paying attention.

Later this month, Mike Simmonds and Drew McFadden from the Alderson Engineering team will be at the LeadingAge E2 Expo in Philadelphia, the largest expo in aging services, bringing together thousands of industry professionals.

For us, it’s not just an expo. It’s a chance to hear directly from the people running these communities about what they need from the buildings they operate in.

Pennswood Village in Newtown, PA is a 400,000 square foot residential life care community and one of the more complex projects in our history. Our team designed the full mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems across a renovation of three existing buildings and a new addition, all completed in phases while residents remained fully on site.

The project features a geothermal HVAC system and achieved LEED Gold certification. Engineering around people's daily lives without disruption takes real coordination. We are proud of what this team delivered.
