Job sites, homeowners, design selections, team laughs, content days… this is the stuff I love. 🏡✨

Today was one of those days that reminds me how much heart goes into every home we build.

I stopped by several projects, spent time with the team, caught up with homeowners picking out flooring and tile, and got a front-row seat to all the little decisions that eventually become someone’s favorite place in the world.

I also snuck in a few videos with the boys—which usually means equal parts construction updates and comedy show. 😂

The homes are beautiful, but the people behind them will always be my favorite part.

Not a bad office for the day. ☀️🤍

If you’ve been following along with this custom build, you might notice things are looking a little different since our last walkthrough…

More framing.
More structure.
More of the home’s layout coming to life.

This stage is one of our favorites because you can finally start to see the vision take shape. Rooms begin to feel like rooms, hallways start making sense, and what was once a set of plans on paper slowly becomes someone’s future home.

It’s also a reminder that every custom home is built one step at a time. The finished photos are always exciting, but there’s something special about seeing the behind-the-scenes process that gets us there.

Three weeks away from completion… and this home already feels unreal. 👏

From the custom fixtures…
to the countertops…
to the wallpaper details…
to the flooring transitions and finish selections…

Every single corner of this home was intentionally designed to feel elevated, timeless, and completely unique to the homeowners.

We’ve jokingly been calling this one “the castle home” behind the scenes because the scale of it is just incredible — from the multiple garage spaces (including a dedicated boat garage 👀) to the massive entertaining areas and luxury finishes throughout.

But honestly, what makes custom homes so special isn’t just the size… it’s the details.

The little things.
The personality behind the selections.
The way everything slowly comes together piece by piece until it finally starts feeling like someone’s dream home becoming real.

This reel is just a quick cinematic walkthrough while we’re still in the final stages of construction… but we already know the finished reveal is going to be something special.

Part 2 at the Baggerly home… and this backyard setup is unreal. 🔥

One of the coolest parts about custom building is seeing how every homeowner brings their personality and lifestyle into the details of the home — and this outdoor living space is the perfect example of that.

From the beautiful limestone steps and matching indoor/outdoor flooring transition…
to the fully customized outdoor kitchen…
to the massive BBQ with bullhorn handles (which honestly might be one of the coolest details we’ve seen 😂)…

Every part of this space was intentionally designed to feel both elevated and functional.

Bob also walks through the motorized screens that drop down throughout the outdoor living area, allowing the homeowners to comfortably enjoy the space while keeping bugs out during those Carolina evenings.

And the craftsmanship throughout this entire area is just incredible — the stonework, brick detailing, ventilation hood, layout, flow into the four seasons room… all of it comes together so seamlessly.

This home is officially getting close to the finish line, and honestly, seeing these final lifestyle details come together is one of the most exciting stages of the entire process.

Next stop… hopefully interviewing the homeowners in their finished dream home. 👏

Every custom home tells a story — and this one is all about building around the way our clients actually live. 🏡

This is the Baggerly home in the Thistle community, and we’re officially down to the final stretch… just a few weeks away from move-in day.

One of the things we love most about custom building is watching a home become deeply personal to the family building it.

From the 4-car garage setup…
to a fully dedicated workshop space for restoring and working on cars…
to a separate boat garage designed for an avid fisherman…

Every detail of this home was intentionally designed around the lifestyle, passions, and day-to-day life of the homeowners.

That’s the beauty of custom building:
it’s not just about square footage or finishes — it’s about creating a home that genuinely reflects the people living inside it.

And honestly, seeing a project at this stage is always exciting for our team. Landscaping is nearly complete, final details are coming together, and in just a few short weeks this house officially becomes a home.

Part 2 with Ed Micah — and honestly, this conversation captures such a REAL side of custom home building. 🏡

Everyone talks about the finished home… but not always the process behind it.

Ed shared how exciting it was being able to customize every detail of their home — but also how overwhelming that can feel at times too. When you build custom, you truly get to choose everything… and while that’s an incredible opportunity, it’s also a lot of decisions along the way. 😂

One of my favorite moments in this interview was hearing about the Carolina Room. Originally, they had planned for a completely drywall finish — but during one of their visits, they realized it had accidentally been finished with Hardie board instead.

At first it caught them off guard…

…and then they ended up loving it. 😂

Honestly, that’s part of the journey sometimes too. Building a custom home is collaborative, evolving, and full of moments where ideas shift as the vision comes to life.

Ed and his wife moved from Northern Virginia wanting something different from the “brick and 50 shades of beige” they were used to seeing — and created a home that truly feels personal to them.
