Question we get a lot this time of year: "Why is my upstairs so much hotter than downstairs?" Usually it comes down to airflow, insulation, or a system that was never quite balanced right for a two story layout. Heat rises, but a properly set up system should still be able to keep up.

If this sounds like your house, it's not something you just have to live with. Worth having someone actually look at the airflow setup instead of just cranking the thermostat lower.

We're smack in the middle of hurricane season down here, and if the power's ever gone out during a storm, you already know how fast a house heats up without AC running. If you've got a generator or you're thinking about one, make sure it's actually sized to handle your HVAC system, not just your fridge and a few lights.

Worth figuring this out now instead of during a storm watch when everyone's scrambling at once.

et's clear up a couple things we hear a lot. Closing vents in unused rooms does not save energy, it actually messes with your system's pressure and can cause more problems. And bigger is not always better when it comes to a new AC unit, the wrong size can run less efficiently than a properly sized smaller one.

What's a HVAC myth you've heard that you always wondered about? Drop it in the comments, happy to set the record straight.

Now that school's back in session, the house schedule changes and so does how your system runs. Doors opening and closing all morning, thermostat getting bumped up and down before everyone heads out, AC trying to keep up with a routine it wasn't running a few weeks ago.

If you notice your system struggling more since the schedule flipped, that's not a coincidence. Worth a quick check before it turns into a bigger issue.

Quick shoutout to our crew this week. Late August calls have been nonstop, hot attics, longer days, and everybody's still showing up ready to explain what's going on instead of rushing through it.

That's the standard here, not the exception. Just wanted it said out loud for once instead of only showing up in reviews.

One of our technicians hit a pothole late last night and ended up with two flat tires at 11pm, right after finishing up with all of our customers for the day. We got the van towed to the shop and the Mallard pit crew got to work.

Only problem, we couldn't find those rims anywhere local. So we made the drive to Pensacola to track them down and get the van back on the road.

Why go through all that? So we can get to every one of you and keep you cool. That's the job.

Thank you all for the support. Call today, we'll fly your way.

Most people know us for home AC calls, but we handle commercial systems too, offices, retail spaces, restaurants, anywhere that can't afford to have the air go out mid-day with customers or staff inside.

If you run a business around Baldwin or Mobile County and your system's been giving you trouble, or you're just not sure how it's holding up, we're happy to take a look.

Quick one. If you're cranking the thermostat down low when you walk in hot, hoping it'll cool the house faster, it won't. It just runs longer than it needs to and costs you more.

Set it where you actually want it and let the system catch up at its own pace. Boring advice, but it works, and it's the kind of thing nobody tells you until something goes wrong.

We're at the point in the year where a lot of systems are running on fumes. Not broken yet, just tired. If yours has been cycling more than it used to, or the air coming out doesn't feel as cold as it did in June, that's not your imagination.

Worth getting looked at now instead of waiting for it to actually quit on you. Systems rarely fail out of nowhere, they usually give you a few weeks of warning first.
