This Week Under The Hood...

We repaired a fume Extractor!

For those who may not know, fume extractors are helpful tools for those who work in the shop and need clean breathing air. The smoke and metallic fumes that come out of welding, grinding, and anything else that comes to mind could be overwhelming for one person. Fume extractors function as a vacuum that filters the air out and makes it clean and breathable again.

The fume Extractor we repaired had inoperable booster fan motors as a result of bad bearrings. In response to this, the voltage converter had failed due to oveload from the booster motors. Without these functions, the extractors cannot perform properly.

To repair it, we replaced the booster motors and the voltage converter, of which was difficult to acquire, but we were able to source a replacement. We had also taken the consideration to adjust the amperage on the voltage converters so it could not overload again.
