Yesterday, CP Engineers in partnership with Port Royal Municipal Authority celebrated our groundbreaking on a project that closes a chapter Pennsylvania has been working toward for decades.

The Port Royal Wastewater Treatment Plant is believed to operate one of the last remaining direct discharges of untreated sewage in the Commonwealth.

$3.8 million in combined federal and state investment makes its upgrades possible:

→ A $500K federal earmark from Senator Fetterman funds a new UV disinfection system — eliminating hazardous chemical handling entirely

→ A $3.3M PennVEST State Revolving Fund loan expands the pump station and permanently eliminates sanitary sewer overflows to the Juniata River

This is what partnership looks like. PENNVEST (PA Infrastructure Investment Authority), Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Port Royal Municipal Authority, and Senator Fetterman's office all showed up — for a small borough that did exactly what you're supposed to do: identified the problem, built the coalition, and got it done.

Thank you to our very own Brian Book, Renee Fry, representing Rep. Perry Stambaugh; Rhonda Kelly, the executive director of the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce; Tesra Schlupp of PennVEST, Frank Zgoda, P.E. of CP Engineers, Duane Hart of Port Royal Municipal Authority, John Breneman, representing Senator Judy Ward; Steve Auker, Steve Roselle; Leon Zimmerman of L*Z Electric, Dave Ault from Sipple, Juniata County Commissioner Alice Gray, Juniata County Commissioner Mark Partner, and Stanley Puszcz, P.E., CEO at CP Engineers.

We're proud to have led the engineering. Prouder still to have watched a community deliver a landmark environmental outcome.

Our team had the privilege of joining the Patriots’ Path Council 2026 Spring Sporting Clays Shoot at Hudson Farm Club in Andover, NJ - a fantastic event benefiting Scouting in our community.

Our CEO, Stanley Puszcz, P.E., is a father to three Eagle Scouts, one of which is our General Counsel, John Puszcz. During their time in scouting, they worked with Joseph Fucito, Scoutmaster of Troop 150 and a valued vendor.

It was also a pleasure to be out on the course with our Project Manager Tim Wuestneck, PE and our valued client, Brian VanDenBroek.

Events like this remind us that investing in our communities - and in the character, discipline, and leadership Scouting builds - is some of the most important work we do.

Proud to support Patriots’ Path Council. Here’s to the Scouts!

CP was excited to be in attendance last month at the NJ Conference of Mayors 61st Annual Spring Conference and Rock The Block Reception at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

The conference once again gave us the opportunity to meet with municipal leaders, state officials, partners, exhibitors, stakeholders and guests from across New Jersey.

We are grateful for the engagement and collaboration with our partners and for the opportunity to bring valuable ideas back to the communities we serve.
