Our Lab Manager Kami Dunn spent a day this week attending the CHEMTREC International HAZMAT Summit and learning about new and updated regulations as well as expanding her toolbox when it comes to SDS creation! Grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and expanding our knowledge base as well as industry experts that take the time to educate us.

🍃BioBlitz at Window Cliffs State Natural Area!🍃

Come out and join us for our first BioBlitz at Window Cliffs State Natural Area!

Botanist Eli Harris will be there to help us explore our grassland area and new Fireline trail using iNaturalist. We will observe and document plants, animals, fungi, insects, and more while learning how our observations can contribute valuable data to the park.

The grassland will be sunny with plants 3–5 feet high, while the Fireline trail will mostly be shaded beneath an oak-hickory forest. Please come prepared for outdoor conditions, including the possibility of stinging insects, snakes, ticks, poison ivy, and thorny plants.

Closed-toed boots, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and a wide-brimmed hat are highly recommended. Bug spray, permethrin, and sunscreen are encouraged. Bring a refillable water bottle, snacks or lunch, and a fully charged phone. If you have a portable power bank, please bring it as well.

Please download iNaturalist before arriving. You may also consider downloading Seek, Merlin, or eBird.

Come ready to explore, learn, and contribute to our understanding of the species found in the park.

✨THANK YOU✨ to everyone who came out to support our Adoption Day with the White County Animal Shelter!!! It was such a lovely day that ended in 5 adoptions. Please consider adopting or fostering one of the adorable dogs from the shelter if you are considering adding a pet to the family!! 🐕

Mid South Labs is partnering with the White County Animal Shelter to host an Adoption Day on March 15th at 10am. Come out and join us in trying to find these puppies their forever homes!

Also, if you misssed your chance to see the lab last year, we will once again be offering mini tours during the adoption day for anyone interested in seeing a chemistry lab!
