That smoke can carry fine particles and combustion residue that may enter homes through attic vents, HVAC systems, open doors, windows, garages, and other openings.
That doesn't mean every home needs professional restoration.
It does mean it's worth understanding what, if anything, made its way inside.
Depending on what an inspection finds, the solution may be as simple as replacing HVAC filters, cleaning affected surfaces, or improving indoor air filtration. In other situations, more thorough cleaning may be recommended.
The important thing is making decisions based on the actual condition of your home—not assumptions or misinformation.
