Each municipality has its own different set of planning and building requirements. When we build an ADU, navigating these local regulations is a huge part of the process to ensure everything is done right.

Take our recent South Hill project, for example. Because the ADU sits behind the main house, the city required a dedicated concrete walkway connecting the entrance directly to the driveway or sidewalk. They also required a four-foot covered roof overhang above the front door, which helps protect the entryway from the weather.
