Campbell Grinder

Campbell Grinder Customized, turnkey grinding solutions to produce your part in one clamping. Call Campbell Grinder now to start that conversation. No worries.

Start with the Part

Campbell Grinder will start by asking about your top level grinding requirements: Things like cycle time, surface finish, and accuracy. But more than exploring ways to replace or improve your current approach to grinding, Campbell Grinder engineers often find ways to combine operations for much higher grinding efficiency, sometimes eliminating the need for entire machines. We

might propose ways to grind more surfaces in a single grinding machine, combine grinding and milling, incorporate better in-process gauging, or improve material removal rates. Our grinding experts offer more possibilities — and it all starts with a conversation. We'll Build Whatever Grinder it Takes! Campbell Grinder offers a few “standard” grinding machine models, but over 80% of the grinding machines we build each year are customized. We’re not tied to a fixed set of castings. Instead we combine Finite Element Analysis (FEA), modular construction using rigid box sections, and hundreds of years of combined experience to create whatever grinding machine configuration best produces your parts. That might mean multiple grinding heads, automated tool changers, linear motors, a traveling column, or 20 feet of axis movement…You name it. We’ll design and build your grinding machine from the ground up right here in Western Michigan, from the wiring to the door assembly, using industry best practices and an unfailing attention to detail. For example, we’ll use laser calibration to ensure that the guide rails in your grinding machine are straight to within 2 microns, even for travels of 90 inches or more. It doesn’t matter if your part is smaller than a baseball or bigger than a railroad car…It doesn’t matter if your part is made of a high-nickel superalloy, carbide, or glass…And it doesn’t matter if you’re in love with FANUC, tied to the Siemens control, or switching to Rockwell…Campbell Grinder will deliver the optimum solution. It’s what Campbell Grinder does. It’s Campbell Grinder has done since 1969. You'll Get a Turnkey Grinding Solution
Campbell Grinder’s capabilities go well beyond building grinding machines. With over 30 engineers under one roof, we’re staffed and organized to deliver complete, turnkey solutions. Campbell also collaborates with the leading grinding experts in all the necessary supporting technologies, like workholding, coolant delivery, grinding wheels, cutting tools, in-process gauging, and automation. Plus our own innovative and proven grinding coolant filtration systems are capable of filtering down to one micron. We’ll tie everything together, write, test, and optimize complete CAM programs, and create a friendly interface for your operators. Team with Campbell Grinder and as the headline suggests, manufacturing your part will be like turning a key. Let's Partner to Achieve Long-Term Grinding Productivity

Depending on your grinding needs, Campbell Grinder would typically prove out your new manufacturing process at our factory and then install the grinding machine at your facility. We’d also provide any needed training, though typically this would entail running canned programs written especially for your parts, plus basic machine maintenance. We make integration as painless and convenient as possible. Our partnership doesn’t end with grinding machine delivery. Campbell offers remote diagnostics and telephone support from our home office, plus field support. Several technicians are located in critical geographic regions for fast reaction time. We maintain a stock of $2 million in spare parts, including custom grinder wheel arbors that can be quickly engineered to order. Beyond that, Campbell Grinder offers ongoing process optimization. Working with Campbell Grinder means you’ll always have access to the latest grinding machining technology, especially for the most challenging materials and applications.
