Please join me in congratulating Falyn Crutcher as today she was promoted to Deputy Director of Operations. This may not seem like a big deal to you so allow me to explain Falyn's 22 month journey at Square1...
October, 2022: Falyn applied for a part-time position doing holiday assembly projects. She had another job cleaning offices at night. She had never worked in distribution or logistics and there was nothing particularly remarkable about her resume.
November, 2022: A large international client had a need for Square1 to send two people to Chicago to work on a 5-day project. We sent Falyn and another person, mostly because they seemed responsible. The client emailed me amazed that our two young ladies got the job done in 2 days, not 5.
June, 2023: Falyn had learned all of the basic functions of our operation and was promoted to be the Admin person to support a large 1 year only, seasonal client. The client had new management, very capable people, but new to the brand and that, combined with the shear volume, made it very stressful. So stressful the Supervisor quit. Falyn immediately stepped up and took control of the workflow and guided that team for the next few months. The client was so appreciative and couldn't believe how well the Sq1 team did compared to years past with another provider. Falyn ironed out several issues the client was experiencing with their retailers. That client was a 1-year client as they were consolidating their 5 brands into one location. Falyn told me she wished we had them for another year as she had learned so much and would have made it even better for the client and their retailers.
November, 2023: With the major client winding down their season it just so happened to coincide with another job opening. Our Accounting/HR Admin position was coming open. Falyn had zero accounting or HR experience, but there was something about her that told us she can learn whatever you can teach her. The outgoing person and I taught her all we know and asked her to take online accounting classes.
August, 2024: Falyn has excelled in her Accounting/HR role. She has also added new client onboarding, software integrations and generally become a go-to person in our company.
Falyn was 24 years old with no degree and no experience. 22 months later she is the #3 person in our company. I know it's a generational thing for older people to badmouth young people in America. I say take that trash elsewhere. I couldn't be more proud of Falyn and the other hard working young people at Square1.
