Some projects just mean a little more. We're proud to be part of the team bringing the St. Louis Children's at CoxHealth Specialty Care Center to Springfield, a place that will care for kids and families close to home.

Moments like this are a great reminder of how much collaboration goes into a project of this scale. Architects, landscape architects, civil, structural, and MEP engineers, and the construction crews in the field each bring their own expertise, and it takes all of them working together to turn plans into a building. It's been a privilege to work alongside Archimages, Inc, DG2 Design Landscape Architecture, David Mason + Associates, Introba, and KCI Construction Company. When talented teams come together around a shared goal, great things get built, and we're excited to see this one come to life for our community. 🏗️🌲

What a great morning! 🏗️ Sawyer Posten, PE, CFM, Land Development Manager and Garrett Evans, PE, Transportation Manager represented CJW at the Topping Out celebration today as the final beam was placed by KCI Construction Company at the new St. Louis Children's Hospital at CoxHealth Specialty Care Center site here in Springfield.

This facility will give families in the Ozarks access to specialized pediatric care without the long drive, and it's set to open in summer 2027. Congratulations to everyone who helped reach this milestone! 🥳

⛳ What a day on the course! Our team spent this morning at Island Green Golf Course in Republic for OSITE's 21st Annual Golf Tournament, and we were proud to sponsor a hole this year.

Big thanks to OSITE for putting on another great event and to everyone who came out to play on this beautiful, sunny Friday. Events like this are a big part of what makes the Ozarks transportation community so special.

(And yes, some of us took the "relaxing round of golf" idea very literally. 😎)

OSITE is the Ozarks Section of ITE Missouri Valley District - Movite which provides opportunities for professional development and community building at a regional level through conferences, training, publications, and involvement in projects and products advancing knowledge in the industry. ITE - A Community of Transportation Professionals works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities. We value our involvement with these organizations that are focused on improving and growing the individuals and businesses in the transportation engineering industry.

Lunching and learning at CJW! 🍕 🚦 🚸

Today our team welcomed Roy Manning of Lumen Link Lighting & Controls for a lunch and learn on safety lighting. Roy walked us through "A Safer Way Home," featuring Innovative solutions for keeping pedestrians and drivers safe; from in-roadway warning lights and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) to HAWK signals, LED-enhanced signs, and cloud-connected systems. The team got a full walk through of their innovative exterior and roadway lighting solutions.

Thanks, Roy, for a great presentation (and lunch!). Staying current on the latest safety tools helps us design better, safer streets and other infrastructure for the communities we serve.

"What a beautiful morning to see our demonstration traffic calming project at work on Osage Drive!" 🌅 - Garrett Evans, PE - CJW Transportation Manager

A big thank you to City of Willard, MO Information for letting us help design these speed-reducing chicanes for the neighborhood.

We looked at several options, including speed bumps, speed tables, and neighborhood roundabouts. In the end, city staff and our team chose chicanes because they're easy to maintain, quick to install, and expected to be effective. By narrowing the driving space and adding vertical posts, they naturally encourage drivers to slow down, with no impact on drainage and very little loss of on-street parking.

We love working with communities that put safety first! ⚠️ 🛣️

Look at this progress! 🏗️

KCI Construction Company is making great headway with the construction and site development at the St. Louis Children's Hospital at CoxHealth Specialty Care Center, and CJW is so proud to serve as the civil engineering consultants and designers for this vital project.

Those bright yellow chambers in the photos are part of the underground stormwater detention system being constructed based on our design. You can also see our public improvement plans along Primrose Street taking shape.

When this outpatient pediatric Specialty Clinic and Surgery Center opens in summer 2027, the 133,000 square-foot, three story facility will be the largest and most comprehensive pediatric outpatient facility in the region housing a wide range of pediatric healthcare specialists, providers, and services together under one roof.

It's so rewarding watching a project go from the planning and design phase to actual construction. Congratulations to CoxHealth, BJC HealthCare, KCI Construction Company and the entire project team on the progress made so far. This project will be such an incredible asset to the children and families of the Springfield community and throughout Southwest Missouri, and we are happy to be a part of this transformative project.

CJW Transportation Consultants LLC is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our growing team in Springfield, Missouri and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time opportunity for a skilled survey professional who enjoys leading field crews, solving technical challenges, and working on projects that help shape the region’s infrastructure.

Position Details:
-Full-Time
-Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
-Schedule: Monday–Friday, varying hours between 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
-Occasional weekends, overtime, and overnight travel may be required based on project needs

What We’re Looking For:
-Experience leading survey crews
-Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, construction staking, ALTA/NSPS, and control surveys
-Proficiency with survey equipment such as GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
-Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-A valid driver’s license and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
