A crew that makes you feel like part of the team on day one? Count us in.

For 100 years, W.W. Clyde & Co. has built highways, pipelines, energy projects and everything in between. But behind every project are people who show up for each other, work hard, learn from one another and take pride in what they build.

Respect. Experience. People who have your back.

You can see our work in the projects we build. But you feel our culture in the people you build them with.

That’s a big part of what makes W.W. Clyde special, and why people stay.

If you’re part of the W.W. Clyde team, what’s kept you here?

It wasn’t easy work.

In the winter of 2001, W.W. Clyde & Co. crews began work along the steep north side of Provo Canyon on a project that would take about three years to complete.

The job: replace a half-century-old water pipeline with a new 10-foot diameter steel line connecting Deer Creek Reservoir to Utah and Salt Lake counties.

The conditions made the work even tougher. Rockfalls were a constant concern. Dirt covered portions of the original pipe. And operators had to navigate narrow service roads with steep drop-offs and very little room for error.

But there was a bigger reason to get the job done. The new Olmsted flowline was designed to provide water to the Olmsted Power Plant and drinking water to one of Utah’s most populated regions.

Sometimes the work is complicated. Sometimes the conditions are tough. And sometimes the thing you’re building will quietly serve people for years without them ever knowing it exists.

That’s essential work. And it’s been part of W.W. Clyde for 100 years.

Big equipment takes serious skill.

Grateful for the mechanics and welders who keep our people, machines and projects moving.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Utah was getting ready to welcome the world.

W.W. Clyde & Co. was hard at work.

Ahead of the 2002 Winter Olympics, our teams helped build and prepare some of the venues that would host the Games—from the downhill runs at Snowbasin to the Super G at Park City and the aerials and bleachers at Deer Valley.

At Soldier Hollow, our young intern, a BYU student named Dustin Olson, submitted his first construction bid for the first five kilometers of the cross-country ski track.

Today, Dustin is President of W.W. Clyde & Co.

And that same trail? It’s still being used more than two decades later—for skiing, running, hiking, competitions and community events.

Dustin remembers walking the site with Olympic athletes, listening to their vision and figuring out how to turn it into reality.

That’s what made the Olympics special. And it’s what has always made this work special.

We don’t just build projects. We build the infrastructure that connects communities, powers progress and shapes what comes next.
