Our history began in the 1920's, Atlas Iron Works, Inc was founded on hard work and dedication. We weathered the Great Depression, despite years and years with sales only being $1,000 or less. The post war industry made it possible to remain in existence today. Ask Cory Harris about a day off and his response is simple: “What’s a day off?” 😂

Cory grew up around the trades with a carpenter for a dad and remembers being fascinated by watching something get built from nothing. Now, he’s bringing that same curiosity to Atlas and diving into the world of structural steel for the first time.

What excites him most is the opportunity to learn the trade and contribute to an industry with such a proud history. His goal is to learn something new every day, grow alongside the Atlas team, and eventually make Atlas the place he retires from.

When he’s not at Atlas, Cory stays plenty busy. He loves reading, has a passion for cooking, and is a big football fan. He’s also the head coach and offensive coordinator for a 4th grade tackle football team, which he calls his “job away from his job.” 🏈

Above everything else, Cory is most proud of being a dad to three sons and watching them grow into young men who excel in school and athletics.

We’re excited to have Cory on the Atlas team and even more excited to see where this next chapter takes him. Help us give him a warm welcome! 👏

Three years of hard work, plenty of laughs, and a whole lot of good energy. 🎉 Today, we’re celebrating Eliseo and everything he brings to Atlas!

Eliseo is one of those coworkers who simply makes the shop a better place to be. He shows up ready to work, takes pride in what he does, and somehow always finds a way to put a smile on the faces of the people around him. 😄

That combination of hard work, dedication, and a great attitude is what the Atlas spirit is all about. Over the past three years, Eliseo has become an important part of our team and someone we’re incredibly grateful to have working alongside us.

Eliseo, thank you for everything you bring to Atlas, both in the work you do and the person you are. We appreciate you more than you know.

Steel has a pretty impressive résumé. 🏗️♻️

It can be melted down, reused, and turned into something new again and again without losing its strength. That means the steel in a building today could eventually find a second life in a bridge, a vehicle, or even another building.

It’s one of the many reasons steel continues to be such an important part of the world we build around us.

30 YEARS! 🎉👏 Today, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for someone who has truly become a pillar of Atlas Iron Works.

For three decades, Ed has shown up every day ready to work, lead, and give his best. His dedication, work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to step up are a huge part of what makes him such an important member of our team. Over 30 years, a lot can change. But one thing that hasn’t is Ed’s commitment to doing things the right way and being someone others can count on. He leads by example, takes pride in his work, and truly embodies the Atlas spirit.

Ed, we are incredibly lucky and blessed to have you as part of the Atlas family. Thank you for 30 years of hard work, leadership, loyalty, laughs, and everything you’ve contributed along the way.

Football season is here, and we’re talking steel. 🏈🏗️

More than 25,000 tons of steel went into the construction of Highmark Stadium, the new home of the Buffalo Bills. From the structural framework to the massive canopy covering much of the seating, steel plays a major role in bringing a stadium of this scale to life. It’s a pretty impressive reminder of what can be built when great design meets skilled craftsmanship.

👋 Help us welcome Josh Adams to the team!

Josh comes to Atlas with a background in residential construction and repair and was ready to get back into the construction world. During his pre-hire shadow day, it was the culture around the office that really stood out to him and made Atlas feel like the right fit.

Josh is ready to learn. His goal is to absorb as much as he can about the steel industry, take on new challenges, and become someone the Atlas team can count on.

Outside of work, Josh is a big football and baseball fan. He also loves spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, and camping. Most importantly, he’s a proud husband and dad of two. With football season around the corner, Josh has one very important goal outside of work: perfecting his St. Louis red hot ripplet ribs. We’re expecting samples, Josh. 😂🔥

An AISC certification means a fabricator meets strict, independently verified standards for quality, safety, documentation, and process. It is not a membership. It is an audit-based certification that few fabricators hold.

Not all steel fabricators are AISC certified, but we are! 🙌

🎉 Today, we’re celebrating Jesus and his first anniversary with Atlas Iron Works.

Jesus came to Atlas because he enjoys working with his hands and creating something he can be proud of. That same mindset is a big part of what drew him to the skilled trades. He wants a career where he could continue learning, building, and developing skills that will always have value.

One of Jesus’ goals is to cross train throughout the shop and eventually learn every role he can. That willingness to learn and take on something new is one of the many things we appreciate about having him on the team. When he’s not at Atlas, you’ll usually find him spending time with his family. And here’s something his coworkers may not know: Jesus is also skilled in taxidermy.

Thank you for a great first year and for everything you bring to the team. We appreciate your hard work, dedication, and drive to keep getting better.
