This shower just needed a whole lot of love.

It's a prime example of what I harp on to clients about: check your grout! We seal everything in, and while our coating is magical, it's not pixie dust magic. It won't fill in those voids, low spots, etc. How it looks originally is how it will look sealed, structurally at least.

After we got this one all stripped down, we did regrout the bottom before coating. Typically that's someone else's lane, but we were on a time table and it needed to be done for durability reasons.

Overall, it turned out great!! Also super excited to be working with a grant program too!!! How lil ole us got selected to work with them, is beyond me! God is definitely opening doors and filling our hearts!

I always talk about stripping tubs all the way back down to the original surface and why it's important.

It's largely important as resurfacing is an entire process. A process that includes developing a bond between the original surface and the new coating. If you are not at the original service, you cannot develop the bond which means you cannot ensure durability and longevity.

A lot of people think oh it's okay to just sand it and redo. It's not. Case in point this tub. It had over five layers on it. Over Five layers of failing coating. Over five times of someone failing to do the job properly. That just blows my brain!

I always say if you just sand it down and reapply, it will always fail too. A) it's typically the wrong type of bond b) you're applying your new coating, to something that is already failing! So it's gonna fail!!!

We had to strip this guy multiple times just so it could be done right.

And while we appreciate the business and helping others get stuff straightened back to right....please do your homework before hiring!

Another sweet family yesterday and today! We had this wonderful couple (who had the best pups plus humans!) referred us to this next lovely couple (who had a very fun kitty!)

This couple is beginning the process of readying their property for sale, and for a new family to grow as theirs did.

The thought, heart and intention behind their choices and end goal is simply enough to touch even the grinchess of hearts!

Blessed to be trusted and included in their process! Both surfaces were a bit dated, ambering and one was cultured marble as well. They were getting hard to keep clean. A new coating and our love changed all that!

Etching is key!

This is 1 of 2 reasons why most surfaces fail.

Etching is the process that begins the development of chemical bonds. Any tile or metal based surface has to be etched. If not, you're essentially coating or painting glass. It doesn't even matter how great your coating is either. Whatever is on there will eventually fail; it's honestly just a matter of time.

See the major difference? Etching takes away the gloss protective layer and makes the surface porous.

These regulars trusted us with their personal home, and it turned out sparkling!!!!! It's such an honor when they open their homes to us. Not just as company, but as trusted colleagues!

We are sure glad we did!!!

Tub didn't need a whole lot...full strip, some repairs because a plumber gouged the heck out of the drain, and some love! We noticed grout mia too, and simply asked what he planned on doing. He had it all ready to go for once the tub cures. J stepped in and said hand it over! So we did a bit of touch up grouting before coating.

Not gonna lie after these past 48 hours, I needed to be reminded there are good people in the world, and to keep going the direction we are! One of the dogs got sick, and at the absolute worst possible time. If you know us, our misfits complete our misfit family. We weren't about to lose one of em.

Oh and then a cat 3 hurricane headed DIRECTLY for my parents' new home where they decided to retire. Yesterday's family was a god send too. They're regulars, and we were doing their personal home. They were the shoulder I needed to cry, stomp around, but still push forward! Luckily, ALL IS WELL AND GOD IS GOOD! Meeting this family was icing on the cake that everything works out how he plans! Thank you 3 for letting us be a part of your next step too!

From a bit dated to bright and airy!

I'm not huge on swapping white for white. Then I see the visual difference which makes a big mental difference when talking about your personal space!

These tiles and base surfaces simply needed a bit of revitalizing!

We also took out the old, dated towel bars, and made some custom faux tile.
