Elizabeth Weiland is our newest Research Scientist.

Elizabeth is a skilled molecular biologist with decades of experience in protein expression and purification. She has worked in 4 labs at Washington University in St. Louis, including the lab of Dr. Wayne Barnes, the inventor of Klentaq. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology from UC San Diego.

Elizabeth is currently focused on developing isothermal PCR (ICR), an innovative technique that bypasses the need for traditional thermocyclers by using helicases to unwind DNA instead of heat. This approach enables faster diagnostics in resource-limited settings, where access to electricity or standard PCR machines may be limited.

Outside the lab, Elizabeth enjoys camping, restoring old Ford trucks, and wood carving.
