Today's Sunday Post-Dispatch has an important editorial from Adolphus Pruitt, Pres. of the St. Louis NAACP, concerning addressing the 'access to capital' issue for underserved communities. Please share this around! "...readers may be surprised to learn that, shockingly, the gap between African American home ownership and white home ownership is wider today than in the Jim Crow era. In fact, systemic racial biases are essentially built-in to credit score algorithms and underwriting resulting in a continuing access-to-capital crisis for underserved communities... Today, what is needed are new approaches to finance that are not weighed down by past systemic inequities and redlining. Bringing Missouri PACE to the capital markets for investment has completed the circle on this exciting and innovative financing tool.

"Ygrene has a longstanding history of issuing some of the most diversified PACE transactions in the industry. GoodGreen 2019-2 is comprised of a portfolio of small-balance commercial and residential PACE assets in California, Florida, and Missouri. Its notes had the lowest Class A interest rate of any PACE asset-class securitization, with its 2.76 percent rate far below the previous-low rate of 3.10 percent.

Through public-private partnerships, PACE has become a crucial engine for spurring local economies and a reliable source for local lawmakers to grow their tax base at no cost to municipal budgets. Through PACE, Ygrene has helped create more than 32,000 jobs, injecting more than $1.7 billion into local economies, according to a report from the University of Southern California Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy. USC's Schwarzenegger Institute also found that Ygrene has helped homeowners save more than $1.2 billion in lifetime insurance premium savings, as well as another $1.2 billion in lifetime utility bill savings. Climate computer models are comprised of millions and millions of lines of code and are constantly updated and refined. The model is very accurate for the Midwest and the prediction shows increased heat and precipitation which translates to extreme weather, such as floods and tornados. Last week, primary sponsor Alderwoman Heather Navarro, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, and Board President Lewis Reed voted unanimously to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of Set the PACE St. Louis and declare October 5th "Energy Efficiency Day."
