In alignment with Construction Safety Week, MBG joined the national effort to raise fall hazard awareness during this week’s Toolbox Talk led by Safety Training Resources Blake Ruffino. We’re proud to stand alongside the industry in supporting what has become the largest construction stand-down event to date; focused on building a stronger, healthier, and safer workforce.

At MBG, we build the space where life takes place. And that responsibility extends well beyond the jobsite.

The Vivienne, located at 211 N. Meramec in Clayton, MO, is progressing rapidly toward completion. This 151-unit luxury townhome community, featuring underground parking and an elevated pool deck, is currently alive with activity across nearly every phase from the final stages of masonry and siding to ongoing MEP work and interior finishes like trim and cabinetry.

Hearthstone at Autumn Hollow is a newly completed 180-unit, garden-style community featuring a clubhouse and pool. The development was recently named 'St. Louis Multifamily Development of the Year' by CoStar.

There are always challenges in construction from weather to tight schedules. We’re proud to still pull it off on time. I believe the property is already nearly 85% leased which is awesome. This was a great project and I’m happy about how it turned out.”

On the southeast corner of I-44 and 141 high above the bustle lies a new development offering 216 luxury apartment homes to Fenton and Valley Park. We caught up with 44 East Project Engineer, Alex Unnerstall.

“The clubhouse is exciting,” Alex smiled. “We just started last week. They’re planning to have the roof done so we can start shingling next week. We’re getting brick this week, too. One phase is starting underground, another framing, siding, shingles, windows, tubs, showers, doors…just about everything is going on at this site.” He and Project Manager, Devin Bringus, stand outside the clubhouse by the big hole for the pool.

“I’m so glad (Laborer) Steven Maisel is here. He’s got it under control,” said Superintendent, Adam Duchon.

Teamwork continues just down the street, too. Project Controller, Emily LeGrand works in office with Devin to keep the finances tracked. Paul Hayhurst supports and directs the team. Even Logistics Manager, Jimmy Hughes, stops by with a generator delivery from the warehouse.

“Morale is high and so is the production,” explained Superintendent,
Matthew Hovey. “The guys fought hard to get through the winter.”

Leo Luxe Living is new mixed-use development bringing 188 luxury apartment homes and 7,000 SF of retail and dining to Wildwood Town Center west of St. Louis. The project team just ended an OAC meeting excited to share the project update.

“Plumbers are darn near done in Zone C and have a good pace going,” said Assistant Superintendent, Carl Aderhold. “Jacobsmeyer Construction Company is laying rock and flat work is going on, too.” His Cubs jersey on Cardinals opening day is purposefully ignored by the team.

“Square Up is mobilizing next week,” chimed in Project Manager, Jason Sperry. “And we’re pouring our FIRST slab Friday!"

“We’re all very excited about the spring weather,” smiled Matthew.

“Team MBG and our trade partners have endured one of the harshest Wisconsin winters I can remember,” Jeremy said. “Snow piling up, temperatures dropping below zero…it tried to hinder our schedule. But I’m here to report: old man winter can’t stop a driven team.”

Jeremy walls is the Superintendent on Savannah Pike Creek Phase II, a 146-unit build-to-rent community in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The construction management team spans Kenosha, Indianapolis, and St. Louis. Different cities, one shared goal.

“We’ve got 11 of 23 buildings up,” he said. “And with spring coming in strong, it’s time to turn up the intensity. We hope to finish ahead of schedule and under budget. That only happens because of the people out here every day putting in the work.”

He paused to recognize the crews behind the progress.
“Special thanks to JC Richardson framing, Absolute Concrete LLC, Southport Plumbing, Dave Jones, Current Electric, RCI Insulation, Millenium Construction Inc., Snop Services, THREE SONS GUTTERS AND HOME IMPROVEMENT.”

“We had a meeting Monday,” he added. “Everyone was aligned. You could feel the momentum.”

Back in St. Louis, Project Controller Angie Becker smiled when asked about the job.
“I just love this team.”

No matter what’s asked, he simply rolls up his sleeves and gets it done. While staying committed to his own project, he stepped in to support others during critical punch efforts, always focused on doing things right and representing MBG with pride. When help was needed, he didn’t hesitate — even when he was already busy. His dedication, pride in the work, and genuine care for the success of others set him apart. “I drove a tractor 94 miles last weekend,” he said smiling. “From Centralia to Elsberry. My buddy bought a Steiger and needed help getting it home. Took about five hours.”
TJ Bueneman is the Superintendent at 211 North Meramec in Clayton, MO. As he walks the site, he points at everything like a proud tour guide.
“Both rough and finish carpenters are onsite. Just about everyone you can think of. There’s so much going on right now—the energy is extreme. Elevators, gypcrete, HVAC, painting, tile, brick, flooring, insulation, drywall.”
He pauses and looks around at the noise and movement.
“We’re getting ready for the sauna installation. Pool finishes are going in. It’s starting to look like something.”
The development will soon be The Vivienne. 151 luxury townhomes with underground parking and an elevated pool deck.
He stops for a second and looks up the elevator shaft.
“Next week I’m taking a break,” he says. “Headed to the rodeo in Texas. I can’t wait.”
