Most pre-blast meetings cover the same ground: powder factor, sequence,
exclusion zone, timing.

What they rarely cover is the question that decides more shots than any
of those:

“Did we measure that — or did we assume it?”

Measure or assume on burden at the face.
Measure or assume on burden and spacing.
Measure or assume on hole depth.
Measure or assume on stemming column.
Measure or assume on water in the hole.

Every shot that disappoints came from at least one assumed number that
should have been a measured one.

The crews getting consistent fragmentation aren’t the ones
with the best powder. They’re the ones who actually measured the shot to verify that it matched the design.

Walk it. Measure it. Load it. Then fire it.

Four plugs. Four jobs. Pick one.

A plug built for tunnelling won't hold a production hole. Different mechanisms, different jobs.
Every stemming plug in this collection uses its own mechanism — inflation, friction fins, collet-style retention, or a spring-loaded shape.

That's on purpose. No single plug can honestly cover every hole condition, diameter, and application.
Here's the short version:

• BLASTBALL™ — air-inflated rubber bladder. Wet holes, breakthroughs, cracks, voids. 2.5"–10 5/8".

• ROCKRIVET™ — collet-fin retention with built-in downline protection. Open pit + underground production. 3"–9".

• MiTiPLUG™ — semi-rigid fin plug that lets emulsion gas through. Underground upholes. 2.5"–3.5".

• SPRINGLOCK™ — rigid tunnel spider. Tunnelling + civil shots. 1.75"–2".

Match the plug to the hole before you load, and you keep confinement, protect the downline, and stop paying for slumps, blowouts, and cut-offs.

You're paying for energy you never use.

Every shot, the column vents straight out the top before the rock ever breaks. You paid for that emulsion. It only worked halfway.

That's not a powder problem. That's a confinement problem.

4 BLASTBAGS™. One of them fits your operation. Comment your hole size and we'll tell you which.

Or, check out the visual on our website to help you know which would fit best.

An underground gold mine in Ghana had a water problem.

Every time they charged an hole, groundwater flushed the emulsion right back out. Plugs didn’t hold. Crews were reloading the same holes over and over. During monsoon season, it got worse.

So they tried something different. Instead of fighting the water after charging, they kept it out of the hole before charging.

The result? Zero slumping and single-pass charging. The mine adopted it across every wet zone on site.

38% finer fragmentation. 15% less oversize. Reduced flyrock range.
All from adjusting one thing:

The stemming.

A 90-million-tonne iron ore mine was losing energy out the top of every hole. Poor confinement, inconsistent breakage, oversize everywhere.

They ran a controlled trial with ROCKRIVETS™. What happened next is worth a read.

A mine shut down all boundary blasting after a flyrock incident—60 days later they were back online.

Three test blasts. One big change.
They had fractured ground, poor confinement, and community pressure.
Standard fixes didn't work. So they tried something different.
The results:

60-70% less flyrock
11% less powder per hole
Operations resumed near property lines

We wrote up what they changed, what the test data showed, and how they got approval to restart.

If you're dealing with flyrock near boundaries or broken ground at the collar, this is worth 5 minutes.
