Pegasis II

Pegasis II PEGASIS II (Passive Energy Generation for Actuating Space-based Instrumentation Systems) PEGASIS II is a unique sounding rocket payload.

The goal is to design and implement various generators to passively collect energy for possible use for space based instrumentation. Energy will be harvested from the flight of the rocket and solar sources. The project is a continuation of PEGASIS. PEGASIS consisted of seven unique passive energy harvester. PEGASIS II will build off of these by optimizing and reducing inefficient transducers. PEG

ASIS flew on a sounding rocket launched from NASA Wallops Flight Facility on June 21st 2012. Unfortunately the mission was not a complete success due to a loose wire that caused a power failure.
