The final tiedown is in! ✅

This week, Schnabel installed the last of 94 temporary tiedowns at the City of Marshall Wastewater Treatment Plant project, completing our support of excavation system ahead of schedule for Granger Construction Company. In addition to the tie-downs, the SOE system included the installation of (104) 1180mm diameter secant piles, tiebacks, and pipe struts.

Selected to address granular soils, artesian water conditions, and help provide a watertight structure, the system supports construction of a new headworks facility and equalization basin. These upgrades will improve the city’s wastewater infrastructure and help prevent sewage overflows.

Progress continues below the surface in Tampa!

The Schnabel team continues advancing earth retention work for Huxted Trenchless and Garney on Tampa Bay Water's South Hillsborough Pipeline Project. Multiple secant pile and sheet pile shafts have been completed, with drilling operations continuing at additional shaft locations.

These shafts serve as critical access points for tunneling operations and showcase Schnabel’s specialized expertise in delivering complex underground infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.

As investment in water, wastewater, and underground infrastructure continues to grow across Florida, Schnabel is proud to support owners, engineers, and contractors with earth retention and deep excavation solutions that help make trenchless construction possible.

Jason Nichols joins our Chicago office as a Superintendent. Having begun his career in the ground improvement industry, Jason brings extensive experience installing aggregate piers, grouting, CFA piles, auger-cast piles, displacement piles, and driven piles. He will oversee projects throughout the Midwest, helping ensure our work is completed smoothly and safely.

Olivia Harvey joins our Washington, D.C., office as a Project Engineer. She graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served five years in the U.S. Army as an Engineer officer before earning her M.S. in Geological Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
