Freyssinet works across a wide range of complex structures, making it only fitting that one of New York’s most widely used bridges was the winning photo in our Quarter 1 .

This image of the Kosciuszko Bridge was captured by Safety Coordinator Richard Hopkins and voted the top submission by the Freyssinet team.🏆

Chosen from many strong entries, the photo stands out for its striking view of the bridge and the stay cables that are central to our work. Our crew was involved in the design, production, and installation of the stay cable systems and have continued to perform the bridge’s yearly stay cable inspection and maintenance for over a decade. This ongoing work supports the long-term performance and durability of the structure and helps ensure the safety of the commuting public.

Investing in our people means investing in their safety. Last month, our safety leadership team, Carl Vasquez and Bryan Griffin, lead an in-depth supervisor training for our superintendents, assistant superintendents, and foremen. This training covered over 10 critical topics including Experience Modification Rate, Safety Data Sheets, Maintenance of Traffic, Incident Reporting, and Pre-task planning.

We are proud of this group for showing up ready to learn and lead. Because when our supervisors are equipped with the right knowledge, our entire team goes home safe every day.

Freyssinet USA recently completed an emergency repair for FDOT in Big Pine Key, FL, rebuilding eleven concrete walls that support the wildlife-control grates keeping endangered Key deer safely on the island and off US-1.

With one of Florida's busiest stretches of highway never slowing down, our team sequenced the work across three areas, keeping two travel lanes open the entire time, minimizing disruption while maximizing safety for our crew and the traveling public.

As General Contractors, Freyssinet performed all concrete work and coordinated a great team to help get the job done right:

🌎 This Earth Day, we didn't want to just say thank you to our planet, we wanted to show how we’re making an impact by highlighting a few projects where engineering and environmental responsibility went hand in hand:

Tappan Zee Bridge 🌉
Once carrying over 140,000 vehicles a day, the Tappan Zee Bridge has taken on new life beneath the surface. Freyssinet USA supported the controlled demolition of this bridge by providing lifting equipment, materials, and technical expertise for the lowering operation. The structure now serves a new purpose beneath the surface as a home for a wide variety of marine life in the Hudson River. The new bridge structure was built with sustainability in mind designed for a 100+ year lifespan, low maintenance, and complete with a dedicated path for pedestrians and cyclists.

Channel 5 Bridge 🪸
Before Freyssinet USA could begin repairs on the Channel 5 Bridge located in the Florida Keys, protecting the surrounding ecosystem came first. Our team carefully identified the coral reef locations within the work zone and developed a plan that allowed marine specialists to safely relocate the coral ahead of construction, ensuring the preservation of these delicate ecosystems while allowing the project to move forward responsibly.

Big Pine Key Bridge 🦌
Freyssinet USA completed emergency repairs for the Florida DOT on US-1 stretching between the Florida Keys. This project entailed rebuilding eleven concrete walls that support wildlife-control grates along the Overseas Highway. These grates protect the island’s native endangered deer by discouraging them from crossing the highway at dangerous, unprotected points.

Happy 30th work anniversary to one of the best superintendents to ever do it, Maurice Johnson! 🥳

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of celebrating this milestone with an intimate dinner in his honor. He was surrounded with love, thoughtful gifts, and the appreciation he truly deserves.
