Velocity Telecom has an immediate opening for Junior Technicians. This position will work closely with our lead installers during the installation, termination, and testing of Coax, CAT5 and CAT6 cable. This position requires the individual to have the motivation and ability to learn processes and procedures associated with cable installation. This is designed to be an introductory level position with provided training as you move into an experienced installer role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assisting lead installer with the following:
o Pulling cable
o Terminate, test, and installation of
 CAT5 and CAT6 cable
 Coax cable
 Power cable
o Terminate, test, install, as well as splicing Fiber Optic cable
o Termination of DC Power
o Install and secure equipment into data cabinets
o Securing and labelling of each type of cable
o Installation of ladder racks
o Lacing power cords to ladder rack
• Operation of power tools
• Handling tools and parts, as well as assist installer in tracking inventory for each job

Requirements:
• 0-6 months experience in telecommunications preferred, but not required
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to different customer sites
• Able to pass a drug screening and background check in order to get through badging process
