The Alpha team traded conference rooms for running shoes this weekend!

We had a great time supporting the Dulles 5K/10K on the Runway benefiting Special Olympics Virginia.

Alpha was proud to sponsor the mile markers guiding runners along the course, while several team members joined hundreds of participants for the unique opportunity to race down the runway at Washington Dulles International Airport.

It is a great reminder that strong communities are built through engagement, service, and shared experiences.

Thank you to the event organizers, volunteers, and everyone who laced up their shoes for a worthy cause.

ICYMI: Alpha was at the 2026 AASHTO COBS Annual Meeting sharing the great work we’re doing with State agencies to support their implementation of the SNBI. Successful implementation takes more than updating reporting — it depends on consistent data, practical processes, and experienced technical support. Our SNBI experts, Samantha Lubkin and Earl Dubin, have been delivering that support to agencies through data validation, policy development, and staff training.

We also enjoyed connecting with transportation professionals from across the country, sharing lessons learned, and discussing strategies to help States navigate this important transition.

Strong showing at the ASBO Maryland Conference May 18-20 in Ocean City, Maryland!

We had a lot of great conversations with school system leaders about what they are dealing with right now. What is actually working, where things are getting stuck, and how to keep projects moving when conditions are not ideal.

Really appreciate everyone who stopped by the Alpha booth to talk, share ideas, and compare notes. Those conversations are what make these events so valuable.

ACEC MD Grand Award Winner!

Alpha received the Grand Award at the 2026 ACEC/MD Engineering Excellence Awards for our work on the I 270 Innovative Congestion Management Project with MDOT SHA.

Alpha’s own Stephen McVeigh, PMP led delivery of Maryland’s first Progressive Design Build delivery project. This $120M public investment transformed one of Maryland’s busiest corridors implementing the state’s first ramp metering system, improving safety, mobility, and daily commutes for thousands through integrated planning, ex*****on, and delivery.

We are so proud of Stephen and his team for their outstanding delivery of this important project. The award was accepted by Stephen McVeigh, PMP; Jason Backover, CCM; Heidi VanLuven, PE; and Kathleen Linehan, PE on behalf of the Alpha team.
