Because inquiring minds want to know... and 3D printing minds want to layer! 🧠⚡

We are printing a fresh batch of dragons to guard the shelves for opening week at THE 3D PRINTING STORE, and we need your help picking the color schemes! 🐉✨

According to our math, using the official Bambu Lab filament catalog across a single 4-color AMS unit gives us over 1.2 MILLION possible color combinations (or 18 quadrillion if we chain four AMS units together... but let's not break the internet just yet 🤣).

Since we can't put 1.2 million choices in a Facebook poll, we're leaving this completely up to your imagination!

BIG NEWS, STEVENS POINT & PORTAGE COUNTY! 📢 We’re opening a brand-new storefront! 🎉

When we started Sunset Engineers, our goal was to offer high-level product development and engineering services. Over time, however, so many of you reached out asking for local 3D printing supplies, cool prints, and expert advice. That's when we realized something BIG💥: Portage County needed its very own dedicated home for 3D printing.

To give our community exactly what it's been asking for—and to keep our technical engineering separated from retail fun—we are officially opening a brand-new, standalone sister business: THE 3D PRINTING STORE! 🚀 (I know what you're thinking... the sheer creative boldness of that name is staggering. 🤣)

And don't worry, Sunset Engineers isn't moving! We just snatched up the perfect location right next door to the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum in downtown Stevens Point.

Authorized Bambu Lab Reseller & Service Hub: We are officially bringing Bambu Lab products directly to town! You'll be able to grab filaments, parts, accessories, printers, and get local certified service right here without waiting on shipping.

Youth STEM Programs: Following the tremendous successful season of our Design Lab Alpha and Beta STEM courses, we will continue running our youth programs out of the store to keep inspiring the next generation of engineers! 🧠⚡

Opening our doors is just Phase 1! While our ultimate vision for the space is big, bold, and constantly evolving, we couldn't wait any longer to open up and start serving Portage County. Building out the full, immersive 3D printing adventure will take some time, and we can't wait for you to grow right alongside us. Every time you stop in, you’ll see new tech, fresh builds, and new ideas coming to life. You won't just be visiting the store—you'll be a part of watching the magic unfold!

We are putting the final touches on the space right now—and waiting on a fresh shipment of dragons currently flying in from the mystical peaks of Dragonia! 🐉✨ We are targeting an official door-opening within the next week or two. Up until now, Portage County hasn't had a dedicated, local 3D printing resource. We are thrilled to lead the charge and step up to support our community's needs right here in town.

💡 Shifting into "Inventor Mode" today at Sunset Engineers! 💡

Our workshop is packed with brilliant young inventors and engineers today for our summer STEM programs! Because our team is completely focused on mentoring the next generation through hands-on 3D modeling, prototyping, and testing, our studio will be closed to the public today until 3:30 PM.

While we love visitors, we are strictly keeping the space dedicated to our students during class hours so they can get the most out of this professional product development atmosphere.

We would love for you to stop by and see us once class lets out! We will officially open the doors for normal public and studio hours starting at 3:30 PM today.

Got a part that’s completely obsolete? If you can bring it in, we can rebuild it! 🚜🛠️

A local farmer recently came into Sunset Engineers with a tough problem. The cooling fan on his 40-year-old tractor had broken, and because of the machine's age, a replacement fan is no longer available for purchase anywhere.

Instead of letting a piece of history go to waste, we got to work reverse engineering it from scratch!

Take a look at the process in the photo (from left to right):

The Original: On the far left is the broken, weathered original cooling fan.

The Prototype: In the middle is our initial 3D-printed prototype used to test and verify the perfect fit.

The Final Product: On the far right is the completed, ready-to-work cooling fan. It’s printed using a highly engineered, high-performance material specifically chosen to withstand the intense forces and temperatures of the application.

You don't have to throw out expensive equipment just because a plastic or metal component is discontinued. At Sunset Engineers, we specialize in reverse engineering and technical manufacturing. Whether it's an old tractor part, a piece of industrial machinery, or a broken household component, we can scan, model, and manufacture a brand-new replacement to keep you up and running.
