Here’s some hard things to talk about.
Abortion.
Child Abuse.
Domestic Violence.

Did you know almost 80% of women considering abortion choose life after hearing the fetal heartbeat? Our friends at Stillwater Life Services help expecting moms choose life and provides with STD / STI testing.

Child abuse is in every county in the state. Foster parenting can make a difference in these kids lives when removed from their homes. Lions Meadows of Hope helps provide homes for children through foster care.

According to the state attorney- “Overall, it is estimated that 51.5% of Oklahoma women and 46.0% of men will experience sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetime.” - Gentner Drummond 2024
Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services is a multi-county assistance agency providing shelter, advocacy, and counseling.

We’re already seeing the Christmas lights, decorations, and advertisements.
We want to remember the Christ in Christmas. Some say the reason for the season.
We’ll be sharing part of the Christmas story at at the Christian Church in Fairfax, Ok on December 14th at 11am.

Here’s something that continues to be at the forefront of our minds-
DIVISION.

Have you heard, “Divide and Conquer”?
Websters dictionary states,
: to make a group of people disagree and fight with one another so that they will not join together against one.

We are always stronger together and we generally know it. That’s why we have gym partners, book clubs, likeminded friends, study groups, etc.

In the Bible there’s is a verse almost unchanged no matter the translation; it says, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

No matter the context, whether political or religious, we continue to see a great divide that unfortunately continues to grow.

Let’s take our eyes off our world leaders for a few days and focus on our family, friends, and community.

You are the church and individual members of it. You can make a difference in your world.

Recently a friend brought up something really troubling; su***de. If you need help and don’t know where to turn call 988

*Before su***de, depression or an emotional crisis is going on within a person.

The su***de rate among males in 2023 was approximately four times higher than the rate among females. Males make up 50% of the population but nearly 80% of su***des.
*Men tend to internalize, compatmentalize, and hold on to feelings until they reach a boil over point. This boil over can show up as rage, substance abuse, deep depression, and suicidal thoughts. This can change daily and even hourly as we try to push through it.

Oklahoma- 2023 had 893 su***des.

Ages 75 and up have the highest su***de rate followed by 35-44 year olds.

Su***de reasons-
sadness or grief.
shame.
worthlessness.
intense guilt
rage, or a desire to seek revenge.
that they are a burden to others.
that they have no worth or value.
that life is not worth living.
that they are trapped, either physically or emotionally.
that things will never get better.
intense physical or emotional pain.

Scenarios-
the loss of a loved one
bullying, discrimination, or abuse.
the end of a relationship.
a major change in life circumstances, such as divorce, unemployment, retirement, or homelessness.
receiving a diagnosis of a life changing illness.
problems with money.
being in prison.
pregnancy or pregnancy loss.
questioning one’s sexual or gender identity.
certain cultural practices, such as forced marriage.
surviving a traumatic event.

If you know someone struggling with any of the above check on them. If you are in the middle of it yourself, you are loved and the world needs you. There is hope and help.

I’m sitting in church about 3 weeks ago and I get this word in my head; SENTRY.

Nothing to do with the current sermon, it’s just in my head.

So what is it?
Websters Dictionary-
especially : a soldier standing guard at a point of passage (such as a gate)

I believe we are all standing guard over our people. Our families. Our children. Our communities.

In the Bible the idea of a sentry was a watchman and a guard.

A watchman would observe and report things that would be a threat to our people.

A guard or soldier actively protecting and defending our people, homes, and communities.

I am still working through this thought process and Bible verses around what it would mean to be a modern day Sentry.

But I believe there are quite a few of us who will relate to this idea of a modern day Sentry.

To all our customers, friends, and family- David D Lyons has accepted an opportunity with Olsson as a construction field manager.

Our plan -

We will still continue to do some tractor work.

We will still have our dump trailer.

Our Bobcat e35 excavator is for sale. (Please share and pray for the excavator to sell)

Thank you isn’t enough for the relationships and friends we’ve made over the last 2+ years.

Kody Lyons will be back at Falls Creek this summer.

Kash Lyons will still be around to help with whatever you need. Feed, fencing, and more.

Cassidy Lyons is busy cleaning teeth and raising babies. If you need help with either of those, she ya girl.
