After replacing a well pump, this is often what the water can look like when the well is put back into service. Removing the old pump and installing a new one can disturb the water in the well, causing iron, sediment, and other debris to become suspended in the water.
It’s important to have a professional properly flush and “run off” the water until it clears. Failing to do so can allow excessive sediment and iron to enter your home’s plumbing system, potentially causing damage to pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and other equipment.
