The AIR Act would create Pennsylvania’s first dedicated state airport hangar funding program—addressing a need documented in a statewide survey:

• 64% of responding airports had hangar waiting lists.
• 703 aircraft owners were waiting for hangar space.
• Meeting the demand identified would require 38% more hangars.

Funding and grant availability were among the biggest barriers to development.

Dedicated funding would help airports turn that unmet demand into opportunity: expanding capacity, attracting more aircraft to base in Pennsylvania, and supporting long-term economic growth in the communities they serve.
