Branch Spotlight: North Charleston: Small Team, Big Reach.
The North Charleston location represents an important step in the continued evolution of ACES within the Charleston market.
The early days started quickly. After receiving the building keys on February 1, 2023, the team began coordinating the work needed to bring the location to life, including lining up contractors, preparing the space, and organizing the initial stock setup. On April 10, 2023, the doors were open. North Charleston became the second satellite location in the Charleston Market, with Summerville serving as the main hub. The goal was simple: expand ACES’ footprint in the market and make it easier to serve customers where they are.
Growth Through Customer Convenience
As a satellite location, North Charleston plays a different role than a larger branch.
Rather than being built to operate as a full-scale hub, the location was designed to support customers through accessibility, quick service, and daily convenience. It serves as a stop-and-shop location, a relay point, and an extension of the broader Charleston market.
That purpose has helped the location steadily build momentum. In its first three years, its convenience, responsiveness, and a willingness to do what needed to be done has produced new accounts, with more customers continuing to find the branch each week. While the location may be small, its impact comes from being available, flexible, and close to the customers who need support throughout the day.
A Small Team That Shows Up Big
North Charleston is a three-person operation, making it the smallest teams within ACES.
But that size has also shaped the identity of the branch.
With a small team, everyone has to be willing to step in, help where needed, and keep the location moving. There is little room for “that’s not my job” when the goal is to support the customer and represent ACES well.
The team takes pride in working well together, keeping the environment light, and bringing a sense of humor into the day-to-day. They describe themselves as a “jokey bunch,” but behind that personality is a strong commitment to service.
Their approach is simple: have fun with customers while still providing the level of service ACES is known for.
Looking Ahead
North Charleston’s future is about staying steady, continuing to serve the Charleston customer base, and remaining a valuable extension of the market. The location may not be the largest, but it plays an important role in making ACES more accessible to customers. Its value comes from convenience, flexibility, and the ability to respond quickly when customers need support. As the Charleston market continues to evolve, North Charleston remains positioned to support that growth in its own way.
