When your system is low on charge and needs refrigerant, how do we know?

With the right tools and knowledge, a technician can make this diagnosis in just a few minutes. It comes down to temperature and pressure. Every AC system operates within a designed range of pressure and temperature. Using gauges and temperature probes we can see how the system is operating and we determine if it is correct or not.
We can also see how your indoor unit is operating from outside at the condenser!
Based on those pressure and temperature readings, we can determine things like low airflow, failing compressor, over charged, under charged, and leaks in systems etc!

If your system needs refrigerant it typically indicates a leak. Some leaks can be repaired, others not.

Refrigerant is expensive, so we always weigh the refrigerant in using a scale that is accurate down to ounces. This way, the customer only pays for the exact amount used and nothing more.

Out with the old, and with the new! Every Home in Cane Bay has a zone controller. If you notice inconsistent temperatures throughout the home, the zone system may be to blame! It is what determines the upstairs versus downstairs temperature.

This was an interesting one today! The manuals to the unit were left inside the AC system, and the pages were coming off, sticking to the AC coil. Airflow was being restricted causing a lack of air moving throughout the home.
If you look closely along the back, there are more than two pages covering majority of the coil!

Update: I’m sorry for not being available lately. A few weeks ago, my truck started having major issues and ultimately needed a new transmission. This really put a damper on my ability to service customers and happened at the worst time possible. After more than four weeks, I am finally receiving my truck back (this week).

This is for all Cane Bay residents. Lately I have seen MANY coil leaks. Lennox coils leak, and it has been a known issue for nearly 10 years. There are even class action lawsuits against them. Repair costs are high because the entire coil needs replaced, refrigerant reclaimed, the system vacuumed and recharged with new refrigerant.
With the phaseout of 410a in 2025, you also have to consider the cost associated with repairing a phased out AC system vs a new AC system with a warranty. This leaves homeowners in a tough spot and it’s happening all over Cane Bay.
