I rarely share anything personal on this page, so I felt it was time for a little bit. Meet the last business owner in my family tree other than myself.

This is Winfield C Davis, my great uncle. Born 1894, his foreign military ID from 1918 hangs on my office wall as inspiration. He served in France in 1918 on a detachment of navy manned 14inch railway guns as Gas Officer & Assistant to Train Commander where he was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

He is commended by name in a US Navy post action report in the shelling of the Tergnier Railway Depot near Compiègne in which his unit expended 782 shells over 25 days.

Post-war, he became an accountant and started a small firm that he ran until his death in an automotive accident in 1936.
