We’re proud to be part of this transformative CTE expansion at East St. Louis Senior High School, creating new opportunities for hands-on learning and future workforce development. We’re excited to help bring this vision to life!
East St. Louis School District 189 is building the future.
We proudly marked the groundbreaking of a $17.2 million Career and Technical Education (CTE) expansion at East St. Louis Senior High School — a transformational investment in student opportunity and workforce development.
Made possible through a $17 million Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity grant secured by Senator Chris Belt, this expansion will add 32,500 square feet of modern, hands-on learning space. Students will have access to cutting-edge programs in:
🔧 Electrical & HVAC
🏗️ Construction & Pre-Engineering
⚙️ Manufacturing & Welding
🎙️ Audio/Visual Production
🚗 Automotive Technology
“These are more than new classrooms — they are launchpads for student success.”
“We are grateful to Senator Chris Belt for his leadership in securing this critical investment…” said Superintendent Arthur R. Culver. “We take seriously our responsibility to be strong stewards of these resources and look forward to the lasting impact this project will have on our students and the future workforce of East St. Louis.”
