We are sharing congratulations and a heartfelt thank you to AOLA Partner, Cory Jenner, for his devoted involvement with the American Cancer Society. Cory is on the planning committee and serves as logistics chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Central New York fundraising event. This past weekend, he received the “Power of Purple” Award for his outstanding support in the fight against cancer. 💜

His personal dedication, and the efforts of his non-profit organization Fishing for a Cure, have been invaluable to the cause, helping raise money and awareness for cancer research and assist in finding a cure. AOLA is proud of his compassionate efforts with the organization.

🏗️ UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Our current project at Beaver River CSD includes building entrance reconfiguration and improved vehicular circulation. As part of the design, a box culvert was coordinated with the civil engineer to allow the proper channeling of water under the roadway.

Take a peek at this example of how design translates to implementation! This video, at approximately 5x speed, shows the rectangular concrete structures being installed to construct the culvert.

We have exciting news to share! 🎉

It is our pleasure to celebrate Liz Bogart and Jesse Smith as the newest Licensed Landscape Architects at Appel Osborne! 🥳 Passing the four-part licensure exam and obtaining a New York State Registered Landscape Architect license is a meaningful milestone in a professional practice career, and Liz and Jesse earned this accolade as a result of hard work, continued learning, and firsthand experience.

We are very proud of their accomplishment and that they are a part of our team 💚

Throughout the last eight years, there have been many exciting and rewarding moments planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of Carrier Park. Last weekend, the Town of DeWitt, Syracuse Challenger Baseball and the local community celebrated the ribbon cutting of the final phase of the park's development - the "Superfield of Dreams" ⚾

The complex already includes three all-inclusive baseball fields, and this new synthetic turf field will allow for athletes to play multiple sports at the same site. Adults and kids of all ages and abilities were able to play on the new field at the grand opening.

We are thankful to have been the prime design consultant on this impactful, inclusive, and meaningful neighborhood park 🌳☀️🚶‍♀️

Celebrating 50 years of success and client satisfaction last year was an exciting achievement for our firm. It is a milestone we are proud of, and one that granted Appel Osborne qualification to be added to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry. We are pleased to share that we have been accepted and formally listed.

We are thankful to Assemblyman Magnarelli for endorsing our nomination, and it was a pleasure having him visit our office last week to personally deliver our certificate.

The NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry recognizes New York-based business over 50 years old who have contributed to and supported their local communities. The Registry is an honorary program coordinated through the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.
