🎉 WOW, what a season!
Florida sent 24 incredible teams to the 2026 FIRST World Championship in Houston — joining 1,000+ teams and 50,000 attendees from around the world for the ultimate STEM celebration! 🤖🚀

Our FRC, FTC, and FLL teams made the Sunshine State proud on the world stage. We are beyond proud of every single student, mentor, and volunteer who made it happen!

And the excitement doesn't stop here — the 2026-2027 season is already underway with the brand new FIRST® CANOPY™ biodiversity theme! 🌿

What an incredible week at the FIRST Championship! 💙💛

We’re beyond proud to celebrate these Florida teams and their outstanding accomplishments on the world stage. From division wins to prestigious awards, this group showed what dedication, innovation, and teamwork truly look like.

Being part of such a strong, passionate, and supportive robotics community is something special. The future is bright in Florida robotics. 🌟

And, a shout out to Team 108 who qualified, but chose not to attend due to the expense.

These students have worked tirelessly, and we couldn't be more proud!

The application cycle for the 2026 Summit STEM Fellowship (SSF) and Summit Research Scholars (SRS) is now open. Could you please help share these opportunities with your students at North & Central Florida FIRST Robotics? More information is available in my previous email and on the program website: summiteducation.org

In 2025, Summit programs received over 4,500 applications from students across 100+ countries, so if you have any interested students, we definitely encourage them to apply early. Please let me know if you or your students have any questions. Thanks so much!

Incident Update
April 16, 2026

Law enforcement called a lockdown on the FAMU campus and therefore the Tallahassee Regional venue.

The university and all local law enforcement acted quickly and responsibly the event committee and teams have received the all clear and we have resumed the regional schedule.

We thank the University and local law enforcement, as well as all of you for fulfilling all of our safety procedures.

We will have a counselor available for those who need it.
When additional information is available we will share it.
