Small Business Secret: Every time someone leaves us a Google review, I immediately send it to the team group chat.

Then everyone pretends they’re too COOL to care.

But I assure you, every technician reads every word.

Reviews help local businesses more than most people realize. They help future customers feel confident calling us, they recognize our team for a job well done, and they remind us why we do what we do.

So when Peter took the time to leave this review for Austin, it wasn’t just another 5-star review.

It was encouragement.

It was trust.

And it helps our little Tallahassee HVAC company continue to grow.

Thank you, Peter. And thank you to everyone who has ever taken a few minutes out of their day to leave us a review.

In this photo, our technician is testing a capacitor.

So what is it?

A capacitor is basically the “starting boost” for your HVAC system. Your outdoor unit has a fan motor and a compressor, and both of them need a strong jolt of energy to get moving. The capacitor stores and releases that energy to help them start and run properly.

When a capacitor starts to weaken or fail, you might notice things like:
• Your A/C not cooling like it should
• The outdoor unit struggling to start
• Clicking or humming noises outside
• The system randomly shutting off

And here’s the tricky part—sometimes everything still “looks” fine until the moment it doesn’t work at all.

That’s why testing electrical components during a service call matters. It helps catch small failures before they turn into a no-cool situation in the middle of a Florida summer.

Just a small part doing a very big job.

While everyone is at risk from the dangers of extreme heat, some groups are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Practice heat safety and check on the most vulnerable in our community. Make a safety plan with your family, friends, and neighbors who have an elevated risk when temperatures are high, and check in often.

When Nick and I first started dating, I learned very quickly that thermostat settings are apparently a personality trait.

Me: “62 seems comfortable for bedtime.”

Nick: “The system isn’t designed to run like that.”

7 years later, I’m still hearing about static pressure and airflow at the dinner table.

The downside is I can’t win thermostat arguments.

The upside is our AC always works.

Hey y’all! 👋 It’s been a while since I’ve done a video, but with the heat index expected to be over 100° this weekend, I wanted to remind everyone that you don’t have to wait until Monday if your AC stops working. We have after-hours emergency Saturday appointments available.

💡 Quick tip: If your AC seems to be running constantly during the hottest part of the day, while in the 90’s, that doesn’t always mean something is wrong. When temperatures get this extreme, many systems are simply working as hard as they can to keep up. If it cools back down after the sun goes down, that’s usually a good sign.

💰 Don’t forget about our referral program! If someone mentions your name when they book service, you can earn up to $100 per referral. Be sure to share & tag us!! (Details in comments!)
