We have been involve with constructing numerous K-12 and University campus facilities, classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities, elaborate landscape projects, renovation/remodeling projects, fire code enforcement, water intrusion repairs; and CM-Consulting services for various clients. Through hard work and great people, One Day Came has taken on quite a diversified portfolio of work; and we have established a proven track record for being client-driven professionals who understand and engage the projects and activities with an execution mind-set. Twenty-one years ago, One Day Came Inc. Was started with a belief that building things — real things, lasting things — was one of the most honorable ways to serve a community.

Today, on Memorial Day, we are reminded of who made that possible.

The men and women who put on a uniform didn’t build for recognition. They built for the generation that would come after them. That’s the same spirit we bring to every project — from the schools we’re constructing for Hillsborough County’s children, to the gathering spaces we’re restoring for students and faculty at Florida A&M University.

We build for the people who will walk through those doors long after we’re gone.

Every foundation we pour, every structure we raise, is only possible because someone sacrificed first.

To every Veteran. Every Gold Star family. Every service member still standing watch — One Day Came Inc. sees you. We honor you. And we carry that weight forward in everything we build.

During Construction Safety Week 2026, the industry’s top GCs — Gilbane, Turner, Granite, Skanska, Manhattan, Shawmut — proposed something that sounds simple but isn’t:

Standardize the language around what kills people on jobsites.

Three term
•High Hazard
•High Energy.
•STCKY — Stuff That Can Kill You.

Not new concepts. But the push is to get every contractor, every sub, every craft worker using the same words so that no one falls through a gap in recognition.

Here’s what stood out to me:
Workers currently identify only 45% of hazards they face during pre-task planning. Not because they’re careless — because the language and frameworks vary too much from site to site.

At One Day Came, we’re adopting this framework across our active projects. Not because a client requires it. Because it’s right — and because the way we talk about risk determines how seriously we treat it.

One other thing from the article that I can’t stop thinking about:

Safety planning has moved from preconstruction into the project pursuit phase. You’re identifying steel er****on, excavation, and confined space work before you’ve even won the job — because mitigation is infinitely easier before boots touch the ground than the day before work starts.

That’s not a safety principle. That’s a leadership principle.

If you’re in construction — especially if you’re running crews or managing subs — the STCKY framework is worth your 10 minutes.

“GROUNDBREAKING”
Proud to partner with Skanska on the new construction of Stewart Middle Magnet School and Just Elementary School for Hillsborough County Public Schools. Bringing School District Leaders, Community Members, and Blake High Alumni together on this site reminds us of what’s at stake: The next generation of West Tampa students deserves world-class facilities, and we intend to deliver them.
