Inquiring minds want to know. Who has used the 4x4 structural door jamb? I'm still seeing guys attaching a 2x2 DJ to 4x4 posts on picture window walls and wondering why? The 4x4 DJ acts as the post and the door jamb. Saves install time and saves money on material cost with a cleaner finish. Does your local supplier offer it?

I've had several inquiries about the 4x8 SMB for expanded view openings. Here it is. And using our engineered corner connections and base plates that doesn't require any welded components there's nothing to hold up the project. No cables required.

I received a call and text today about an enclosure under construction with a 52ft expanded view opening. The beam used had 6 inches of deflection which is obviously unacceptable. The span from the fascia was 14ft. My first question was is it an Ultimate View 4x8 SMB or Ultimate View 4x10. The answer was no. My response was, there's your problem. When assembled properly the UVE 4x8 and 4x10 will deliver what your customers expect without sagging. Now the contractor has to disassemble, support the roof and install a beam that can actually handle the load.

Eastern Metals now has the 4x4 structural door jamb and the special 1x2x.080 in stock for those expanded view openings. No more fasteners ripping thru the 1x2 or door jambs flexing. Pull that screen as tight as you can!
