FES will be hosting a talk by Sheida Tirado-Santos and Gerry Traverso, both of whom are professional engineers involved in the FES-Tampa Chapter. The talk will focus on the importance of obtaining a P.E., and their experience in the industry. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. FREE PIZZA will be provided!!!

Space Florida's Annual Planetary Lander ‘Egg-Drop’ Competition challenges elementary, middle, high and home school students across Florida to compete for prizes against the brightest youths in the state. Each team is tasked with designing and building their own lander in which a raw-egg will serve as the payload and must survive a drop of almost 20-feet. Teams must build their planetary landers so that they can fit into a 10 inch x 10 inch x 12 inch container and the landers may be constructed of all forms of aluminum, plastic, wood or soft foam. Space Florida is looking for judges and volunteers to help out on Saturday April 18th, 2015 at Durant High School (near Tampa) from approximately 8:30am-3pm. Team’s will be scored by a team of judges for their team presentation, lander construction, and lander performance in the culminating egg-drop. Volunteers will help run the operations and interact with all the teams and accompanying teachers and parents. Interested judges and volunteers should contact Ryan Kobrick at [email protected]. Brown has over 25 years of experience speaking nationwide to groups such as the Florida Engineering Society, US Military personnel, and even the Texas State Aquarium. He also received his undergrad degree in engineering and was an operating engineer for the Navy. See you then!

1.Application (Can apply for 1-2 positions: separate applications for each position)
2.Interviews with current board members
3.Decisions

The positions available are:
President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, K-12 Chair, Legislative Chair, Professional Development Chair, Webmaster/Historian, Community Service Chair, Social/ Recruitment Chair

TONIGHT in ENB 337 at 6 pm we will be hosting an FES social! Come out to hear about different NASA opportunities and the chance to get to meet current officers in a relaxed setting. Elections are right around the corner for FES at USF and what better way to understand the position you're interested in than talking to the person holding it themselves! ALL positions are open to apply for the 2015 - 2016 school year.
