High-Efficiency Wind Power System (HEWS) delivers distributed wind electricity at a levelized cost of energy (LCOE) that is competitive with utility electricity rates. Allowing private consumers to effectively offset their electricity bill today and hedge against rising utility cost in the future. Developed by International Product Development, Inc.

(IPD), HEWS is designed for optimal performance in rural and urban landscapes, in turbulent and unobstructed open flow wind environments, and is capable of extracting up to ​75% of the swept wind power to effective mechanical-electrical energy. Ultimately, HEWS offers a sustainable economic and technological advantage in its ability to convert more wind power per unit of capacity (capital) cost and swept area than conventional wind turbines. We feature two flagship products; the HEWS 5KW-M (Modular | Plug-and-Play) and HEWS 12KW-R (Residential | Standalone and Rooftop Application) distributed wind energy systems. Both systems are designed to offset heating fuel and electricity usage at an average single family annual energy consumption rate. Subsequently, HEWS 12KW - R is designed to deliver an estimated 20,000 kWh of clean distributed electricity behind the meter, off-grid or net metering in an average residential distributed wind regime of 5 m/s while HEWS 5KW - M is designed to offset heating fuel costs with 8,500 kWh energy production per annum at the same average annual wind speed. Both systems will yield an estimated LCOE of 6 ¢/kWh, which can competitively offset consumer's heating fuel cost and/or electricity bill with a savings of 5 - 10 ¢/kWh, relative to the retail utility electricity rates. Our Technology:

HEWS derives its sustainable technology advantage from its ability to activate and convert the potential and kinetic energy of the wind to an effective, high-power density airflow stream that is delivered to the turbine and simultaneously evacuate the mass of the induced airflow from the turbine space to remove drag. The combined push and pull effect with the high-power density airflow power allows more of the airflow power to be converted to mechanical energy of the turbine, which is coupled with an electrical generator to produce stable, high-efficiency electrical energy. In conceptualizing and developing HEWS, we have considered some of the key technical and economic elements commonly associated with successful distributed wind project development and deployment. Specifically, we have focused on:

•improving turbine efficiency (wind-to-mechanical power conversion)
•stabilizing energy output
•reducing noise
•harmonizing aesthetics to conform with urban and rural landscapes
•quality and safety in operation and maintenance
•simplifying logistics, installation, maintenance and operating procedure
•maintaining sustainable capacity (capital), maintenance and operating cost to reduce the LCOE for the owner/operator/consumer

Our Progress:

We have proven the HEWS operational concept and enhanced power performance characteristics in our working, testable and verifiable HEWS A1-1KW | Prototype. Our concept papers, prototype models and testing results have been reviewed by industry experts. Specifically, HEWS A1 tested within the margin of error against all baselines in four (4) successfully completed trials,, including:

•operating pressure
•mechanical power performance
•electrical energy output
