UT STUDENT LEADERS TO HOST CLEAN ENERGY FORUM MARCH 24

TAMPA — Focus Coordinators Heidi Luce & Melissa Gayle, and faculty advisor Dr. Dan Huber, are proud to present The University of Tampa’s first ever Clean Energy-Forum! At the forum, student leaders and energy experts such as Jacquie Ayala (Southern Energy Network), Michael Eves (NTE Energy) and Dr. John Struss (UT) will explore solar, biodie

sel and hybrid energy technologies and the importance of local farming and grass-roots activism. The day will culminate in a round table discussion of problems the Tampa Bay area is facing, as well as possible solutions. The event is being held in collaboration with Focus the Nation (FTN), the country’s leading clean energy youth empowerment organization. FTN has selected UT as one of 28 campuses leading the country toward clean energy solutions. The organization has been working with students from UT since fall 2011 to increase their energy literacy and identify challenges and opportunities unique to their communities. Between Feb. 7 and March 24, as part of FTN’s Forums-to-Action (F2A) program, students across the country will host Clean Energy Forums to drive solution-oriented clean energy collaborations between their campuses and communities. Pre-event registration is encouraged. For more information or to register, go to www.focusthenation.org.
