To burn anything. Including fuels like propane, CNG and kerosene, you need oxygen. Industrial ovens, furnaces and boilers are no different. They require steady, reliable airflow to control their flame characteristics, to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire heating system. This is often achieved by using a combustion air blower.

For successful combustion, a fuel source, oxygen and an ignition source such as a spark are required. If any these three elements is unstable, the combustion process becomes inefficient and often will fail. A combustion air blower is a key component of your system to achieve peak efficiency and consistent product.

What is a Gas Train?
A gas train is generally the safety valve section of a fuel delivery system. There aren’t set arrangement of this section, however gas trains typically will include the following components:

*A strainer or gas filter to trap or remove tiny particles that may contaminate the line
*A high pressure fuel switch that is used to prevent or shut down a system should maximum pressure of the fuel is exceeded
*A VPS (valve proving system) designed to test leakage in seats of two valves in the series
*An equipment isolation and/or an emergency shutoff valve that may work separately or in conjunction to remove the fuel supply from a system in cases of emergency.
*A sediment trap or another similar device used in the removal of sediment.
*A low fuel pressure switch used to prevent ignition when minimum fuel pressure is not obtained.
*A pressure regulator, which is needed to even out the fuel supply pressure in systems where the pressure may fluctuate.
*Safety Valves … normally at least two safety valves are needed between the burner and the fuel supply devices.

All valves require a system of operation whether it by actuation or cycling. Actuators are used to automate valves making human interaction with the valve unnecessary to cycle the valve thereby removing or at least limiting the risk of human intervention in emergency situations.

At the fundamental level, an actuator is control component managed by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure or an electrical current. Actuators are typically designed to fail in either the open or closed position. They can be categorized by whether they are for linear valve operations like gate valves or whether they are used for quarter-turn valves such as ball or plug valves.

Combustion gas build up followed by explosion, or pressure vessels bursting are dramatic examples of industrial burner accidents and tend to get lots of media attention. One less spectacular yet just as dangerous danger posed by industrial heating equipment is carbon monoxide poisoning.

Today's burners are carefully created to avoid these situations, but job site conditions fluctuate and can change parameters. The type of fuel used and the air-fuel mix used determines the amount of carbon monoxide produced. When an event involving carbon monoxide happens, typically the first reaction is to look at how to vent it properly. It may be however to look at why there was an excess of C2O to begin with. Attention to details like, what altitude will the burner be at when fired, what the ventilation is like in the burner room, other processes utilized within the same facility that may consume oxygen and the housekeeping of the area surrounding the burner.
