🌡️ Do You Know What “Delta T” Means in HVAC? 🌡️
When it comes to air conditioning, one of the most important performance checks is something called Delta T (ΔT).
Delta T simply means the temperature difference between the air going into your system and the air coming out.
✅ Example:
If your return air is 75°F and your supply air is 55°F, your Delta T is 20°F.
Why is Delta T Important?
A proper Delta T helps tell us if your system is:
✔️ Cooling efficiently
✔️ Moving the right amount of airflow
✔️ Properly charged with refrigerant
✔️ Not suffering from dirty coils, restrictions, or failing components
If the Delta T is too low or too high, it can be an early warning sign of problems before a full breakdown happens.
A Good Technician Should Always Check It
When your HVAC unit is being serviced, your technician should be measuring Delta T as part of a proper system evaluation — it’s one of the quickest ways to confirm your system is doing its job.
At Bay Harbor Services, we don’t just “take a look” — we test, verify, and make sure your system is running at peak performance.
