Preserving a Slice of Tampa History, The 99 Year Old Home:
We were entrusted by the current homeowners of the historical Judge Leo Stalnaker (1897-1986) Residence, to a home addition on the property while keeping with the original houses design elements.

Built in 1925 by Judge Stalnaker in Ybor City, this traditional plantation style bungalow is considered to be amongst a handful of original surviving homes in Tampa & possibly the oldest home still occupied. This home still incorporates items from the original Hillsborough County Courthouse that was demolished in 1953 such as stained glass windows, stairs, columns.

Judge Stalnaker was a fearless City leader during the Prohibition Era and the fast paced growth of Tampa throughout the roaring 1920s & beyond. He also served in the Florida Legislature in 1927.

Since the property was on a designated Historical Site, we worked extremely close with the City of Tampa's Historic Preservation Committee & the Barrio Latino Historical Commission. You'll be happy to know that we acquired all required Variances & Design approvals from the respective agencies and the new addition is currently being constructed. The original home has been saved & currently show cases artifacts relating to the Judge and early .
